Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 181 and 182

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

That's in SC right?  Nuke school?  That is where my SR is going as well. :)

Where is Goose Creek?  Never heard of that one yet.  As I said before, "you learn something new every day on these sites".

A pretty place where they train Nuke candidates. :)

How awesome that he will be near you for awhile.  Helps to ease the transition for all!   As for graduations, I have not watched one yet.  Should I watch one or go for the element of surprise???

I am a scrapbooker and want to take loads of pictures.  My main concern is taking pictures and not wanting to miss anything!

I am a scrapper too! Even though my son could care less (right now) about the books I've made, I can't wait to take loads of photos and scrap 'em. Our boys are in the same division so I'll be happy to share my photos via Dropbox or something - and would love to see others' photos too in case someone else has a better vantage point. And since I hear all the sailors look the same in their uniforms and buzz cuts, we might find ourselves taking pictures of the wrong kids at some point - wouldn't that be funny?

What a coincidence!  That would be awesome to share photos because God knows what kind of pictures we can get and like you mentioned the vantage point.  Someone on one of these discussions mentioned trying to sit in the row behind handicapped.  We may be bringing my mother in law, age 80, and that would be ideal as she could sit with my daughter there and my husband and I could sit behind them.  I can imagine taking pictures of the wrong kids as they do look so similar at PIR in pics I have seen!

Let's do it then. In fact I'll expand the offer: if anyone in Div 181 would like to share photos with other families after PIR, send me a friend request. I will create a Dropbox account and give you permission to both add and download photos. Depending on the response, I may expand the offer to other divisions. I'm only restricting it because Dropbox has storage limitations. Sound good?

I like TeriG's idea of taking photos and sharing them after PIR!  I'm in!  At least, I'll try!  Hope I get to see you there!  That would be fun!

I have watched several.  I know I will need a box of tissue just because it is the military marching and the band playing...it is very patriotic.  And knowing my son is among the group....well, this very proud mama will be crying a good bit.  Better bring my sunglasses!

I will do the same.....wish I could "hold it together better" at emotional times.  I will try to watch this week's PIR to be better prepared!

Hi everyone! Now that we're getting so close to Battle Stations, I've been looking for info on it and I saw that on the Navy 05-15-15 Facebook page today they had posted this 7 minute Navy-produced video that was very interesting and informative, and a little scary for lil' ol' claustrophobic me: http://youtu.be/XQCh1mLTIGk. After watching it, there was another link called "After Battle Stations - What Sailors Think" and it was just what I needed to see after the 7-min video. It brought a smile to my face! Here's the link - enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VITIjcAk2Ng  :-)

Thank you, TeriG, I will watch when I have a moment.  I am especially interested in the "What Sailors Think".  Our SR is so happy now but so tired!
