Britefuture praying for all your circumstances. The baltimore situation is just awful. :-( :-(

N4M family please say a few extra prayers tonight.

I am so sick to my stomach. My son leaves tomorrow to finally join his ship and will be gone for, at least, 7 months on deployment. I should be talking to him on the phone and saying those things that only a Mom could/would want to say. Instead, I am glued to the television. As most of you may remember, my husband is a Baltimore City Firefighter. He is at work and there is a tremendous amount of rioting going on due to the unfortunate death of a prisoner. You can turn on CNN to see the details. His unit was attacked by the rioters while they were attempting to get to a CVS that was caught on fire. My husband and his crew are fine, only a hose was cut. Thankfully, the police, one of which is my brother-in-law, showed up just in time. There have been many credible threats to members of the police and fire departments. I am just nauseated right now! Not sure if I'm crying tears for my son or my husband. Maybe both!

Hello all!!

Margavant--my son said the exact same thing when he passed prototype!!!  They are so stressed out by then it is just a HUGE relief!!lol. Congrats to your son!!!

Bnuke--glad your hubby got thru his colonoscopy.  My hubby was asking for a steak dinner when he was awake enough to talk. Was very upset when all he got was toast!!LOL

Mary m&m Thanks for your update.  My son has not told me anything new. I did tell him to inquire.  He is not the type to ask questions.  My husband and I are planning to go to the graduation.  I do not think my son wants to be in the north anymore now that he has gotten a taste of warm winters.  We are from long Island.

Hmmmmm.....our member count is dropping.  Was 2688 last week & today it's 2685....what's happening??

NancyJo - yep, I get the same thing here at work.  I share lots of our N4M stories with my co-workers - good & bad, laughter & tears.  When I first started working here my sailor had just turned 8 - he'll be 26 in June.....the owners know him well!  They are so proud of him and all of our sailors ;-)  And my boss (one of the owners) also served in the Navy - he really loves hearing all the new stories!

Gosh I would love to visit Australia!  So awesome our sailors get to see the world.  Uh-oh on the poor decision making.  Let's hope they learned from their mistakes.

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on April 27, 2015 at 11:36am

LOL B'sNuke, love the whole colonoscopy saga. My co-workers know that when I burst out laughing when I'm reading emails, it's probably N4M. That was a good one.

So much going on! Babies, graduations, trips...life goes on as our sailors makes their way.

Meanwhile, my son's ship is in Australia on their way home. Son says it is without a doubt the second best country on earth. News had some episodes of poor decision making on the part of some sailors. Please God, just bring them all safely home.

Hi all - Happy Monday!

Hubby made it through his colonoscopy!  One small polyp was removed so he might have to re-check in 5 years rather than 10, but the Dr. said he would let him know for sure in a couple of weeks.  We stopped on the way home and he had himself a great big burger with onion rings (and half of my chicken sandwich too!).  He wasn't happy that he couldn't have a beer for 24 hours after...wah, wah wah but he survived ;-)

Spoke with our sailor on Saturday - still doing the old "hurry up & wait" game.....

College son had a track meet on Saturday at UC San Diego. We got a little rain off & on throughout the day but nothing major....It was a little cold for me but then again I'm always cold! Didn't hamper his running - he ran the 1500 in 4:16:00 which was a PR for him so he was happy!

Margavant - WooHoo - Bravo Zulu to your son!

tina41 - Congrats on the new grandbaby - how exciting!

Dinky - It doesn't sound ridiculous - it sounds wonderful!  Enjoy the time with your family.  Hopefully you can share some pictures with us.

1proudmama - sounds like your sailor is making some nice memories while he is home - continue to enjoy the time!  And you too CoTwin!

Just realized how ridiculous a month in Europe sounds! I'm not rich, just visiting elderly parents and family!

I love Estes Park. Colorado is so beautiful. It's on my many might retire there states when that time comes.

It is such a relief when they finally pass their boards. I could here it in my boys voice. Good to have him home. Wish girls were out of school so we could do more as a family. Hubby and him are going to WV to do some white water rafting and then doing some short weekend day trips. He also has quite a few college friends around. One pretty much lives here when he comes home. He arrived here about an hour after my son got home and hasn't left since. lol two for the price of one. He does have school tomorrow so we'll see.

Dinky Europe for a month! Never been but that's on my bucket list too. one day.... Enjoy can't wait to hear all about it.
