Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

Britefuture - Yes, I hope your husband is home safe & sound.  I saw some more news coverage this morning and it's really sad the devastation being done.  Very scary situation indeed.

J's/S'sMom - Yes, hubby agrees now that it wasn't as big a deal as he thought (and managed to put off for almost 5 years!).  I'm just so glad that he finally got it done.....he's a difficult one to get in to the dr.....

Thanks everyone! It's one thing to watch this stuff on the news. It's entirely different when you're almost directly involved. I spoke to my husband, not too long ago. He said our beautiful city looks like a war zone and, in the morning, will be unrecognizable to most. They've closed schools, put a curfew in place for kids and adults, the National Guard has just arrived and firefighters are still putting out fires. Small ones anyway. The sad thing is. This was at the hands of young, high schools kids. At least, that's how it began. They've burned, looted and destroyed their own community. NonnaB-I wasn't there for the 68 riots, but I too was raised in Baltimore. Early 70's for me. I took pride working for that city. Loved wearing that uniform and taking care of the community that helped raise me. I pray you're family is safe.

Anyway, hubby is safe and promised he'd come home to me in the morning. I did speak briefly with my son. Didn't tell him about Baltimore. He sounded a little stressed about this next phase of his life. He doesn't know what a news channel is so I doubt he's aware, lol. Said that he would call me before he has his phone put on stand by tomorrow.

Thank you for tolerating my rant. XO

Prayers for those in Baltimore.  May God bring calm, and peace there.  Prayers also for those affected by the Napal earthquake.

This sure is a different twist to our little game.  We have been stuck on 2628 it seems like since I first posted it.  Do we need to start recruiting :)

I lived through the 1968 Baltimore riots as a child, and it was frightening. Although I no longer live in my home town, many of my family do. It saddens me to see this great city under siege again. Prayers to all the public servants who put their lives out there every day.

Oh britefutre - definitely saying extra prayers for you & your whole family and all the police & firemen.

Britefuture praying for all your circumstances. The baltimore situation is just awful. :-( :-(

N4M family please say a few extra prayers tonight.

I am so sick to my stomach. My son leaves tomorrow to finally join his ship and will be gone for, at least, 7 months on deployment. I should be talking to him on the phone and saying those things that only a Mom could/would want to say. Instead, I am glued to the television. As most of you may remember, my husband is a Baltimore City Firefighter. He is at work and there is a tremendous amount of rioting going on due to the unfortunate death of a prisoner. You can turn on CNN to see the details. His unit was attacked by the rioters while they were attempting to get to a CVS that was caught on fire. My husband and his crew are fine, only a hose was cut. Thankfully, the police, one of which is my brother-in-law, showed up just in time. There have been many credible threats to members of the police and fire departments. I am just nauseated right now! Not sure if I'm crying tears for my son or my husband. Maybe both!

Hello all!!

Margavant--my son said the exact same thing when he passed prototype!!!  They are so stressed out by then it is just a HUGE relief!!lol. Congrats to your son!!!

Bnuke--glad your hubby got thru his colonoscopy.  My hubby was asking for a steak dinner when he was awake enough to talk. Was very upset when all he got was toast!!LOL

Mary m&m Thanks for your update.  My son has not told me anything new. I did tell him to inquire.  He is not the type to ask questions.  My husband and I are planning to go to the graduation.  I do not think my son wants to be in the north anymore now that he has gotten a taste of warm winters.  We are from long Island.
