Good morning all!  It's been two weeks since my SR left.  I have his box and his form letter, so I am feeling pretty happy, which is a far cry from how I felt two weeks ago.  I am so thankful that I have had all of you to help get through the past few weeks.  So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Last week I was feeling pretty mopey and was worrying about the same things all of you are worrying about..Is he sleeping? eating? Is he warn out? Is he cold?  All of this while sitting at my comfortable table, sipping coffee...That is when I came up with an idea.  I decided to get off my rear and spend this "bootcamp" time doing my own bootcamp.

It has been only a week, but I can honestly say that it has been nice to have something to center some of that "feel sorry for myself" energy on.  Which leads me to...........

I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU...THE BOOTCAMP MOM CHALLENGE.

So if you are interested this is my thought.  Find something that is tough for you whether it be something mentally or physically challenging.  It doesn't matter what it is...maybe working out, changing eating habits, cleaning the garage, less smoking, drinking more water.  Find something that you can throw yourself into for the weeks ahead while you are waiting for PIR.  You are welcome to share it, or keep it to yourself.

Here are the Pro's...It keeps your mind occupied, you are challenging yourself, you have something to write about to your SR, you have something you can share with your SR when you see him/her.

Now for the CONS....Ummmm, I can't think of any.

So think about it...How about you come and join me on this journey...

BTW...My challenge is to drink a gallon of water a day, and I have a Cardio, weightlifting plan that is mapped all the way out until I leave for PIR.

Good Luck!

Hi Ladies, only four more weeks to go before graduation!  I hope some of you were able to check out the website that broadcasts the graduations every Friday morning.  Amy3boys, your SR is in a performance division.  Do you know what his role will be at the graduation ceremony?  Perhaps you will catch him practicing around week six.  That's when the performance division starts practicing with real graduating classes.  I was away again over the weekend visiting my daughter at college so didn't work out at all.  But tomorrow starts another week and I'll be off to the races once more.  I'm down two pounds.  Doesn't sound like much but I do feel lighter.  Five more to go by May 15th!!!!

Ladies you are doing great!  Good job Froggy on the weight loss.   Two pounds is a nice number to take off and to be able to keep off.  I haven't done as well this week as I had hoped..Had a bit of an increase in stress this past week and it made it very hard to stay centered on my workouts...I will be back on it tomorrow.  I love the way that you feel after you work out...

I can't wait to start watching the PIR's live.  I am excited to catch my SR in action.

So how are all of you doing?

I am in! Just started back on my nutrition/fitness plan and told my son I would lose at least 10 lbs doing my own boot camp while he is working hard in boot camp. Our son just left last Wedn. so I have plenty of time to do this but must be dedicated to it like our recruits have to be! To add something different my husband and I are going to start biking regularly. Thanks for thinking of this and making the group. Spending the time wisely and sending possitive energy to our recruits is better than worrying!

Hi, where is everyone?  I am done to two diet pepsi a day and lost 2.7lbs.  My daughter joined me in the challenge on Monday. Hope everyone is doing good

Hi Ali!  You are awesome!!!! Way to go!! I am still here...I had kind of a family hiccup the past few weeks that put me kind of in a funk...I am back on track now.  The thing that makes me most mad at myself is that I didn't post my funky feeling here because I know that you guys would have pulled me back up.

Ali is right...Where is everyone? Lets have a roll call so we can see how everyone is doing....Any plans for the weekend?  Anybody having successes or issues that we can help with?

So yesterday when I was on the treadmill in the basement I noticed this heart shaped knot in the wood of the framing of the wall.  It was directly at my eye level and right above my SR's picture...I can't believe that I had not noticed it before...

Another weird thing...My husband was out mowing the other night and he was digging out a dandelion along the flower bed when he saw something shiny...It was a little mini set of dog tags that my SR had when he was little...Of course they haven't been out there all these years but it makes me wonder if my SR was wearing them one day when he was mowing...it was kind of cool...and yes it made me cry...Maybe I will add them above the heart in front of the treadmill.

I'm still here!

Fell behind a week because I traveled last weekend but I'm back on week 4 of Booty Boot Camp. Starting Fitness Blender's new ab program next week: http://bit.ly/1JZtWlH

Now that it's over halfway through bootcamp it almost seems more difficult to stay on track with this. I'm not as sad now that the letters are coming and we're almost done so I don't need to workout all the time as a distraction. But I'm trying my best to keep at it!

That is so sweet it made me cry.

I haven't heard from my son in 3 weeks. One of the division mom's posted that she heard from hers yesterday and the phone calls are pretty much over until after battlestations.  I know he's ok, but I just feel very anxious this morning.  And lots of stupid tears.

I haven't worked out much, my back has been a real issue lately, so I went to the Dr yesterday. I've gained a few pounds.  It's just the place I am in my life right now with bad back problems, but it's very disappointing.   So, I am going to go soak in the tub, cry in the shower, and suck it up like a good Navy mom. Pir is only two weeks away, & my boy will be so awesome in his dress whites- I can't wait to hug his neck. It's going to be amazing!

@Aimee and wine: I totally told my girl to tell your boy that you missed him! I felt sad for you that you didn't get to talk to him last week and i figured maybe he'd write a letter since he got the message from another SR.

Keep up your strength and if the bath doesn't help I find icy hot or just a heating pad can help my pain. I have arthritis in my hip but it gives me back pain a lot. Two advil, laying on the heating pad and a little sleep.
Thanks BrownEyes- I truly appreciate that. I know he's good, but the worry and the missing and such just got me this morning. I cried it out, got dressed & I'm at the dr getting xrays. My back is a mess- long story. But I will get it together and be just fine. God will lift me up and walk for me when I cant- he protects our kiddos and provides all that we need. I am way to blessed to be whining over my worries, hugs yall.

New to this forum/site, My son just left last week, PIR 06/19/2015, I love this idea!!! We are a family that has always been active together but what a great idea to be connecting with our loved ones by taking on similar challenges!!! Kind of like looking at the same moon, as the child's tale goes. Also it beats hitting that pint of ice cream in the fridge when you walk upstairs and see that empty room!

Hi Hootsmom!  Welcome to the Navy family!  Those first few weeks are pretty rough and we all found ourselves not knowing what to do with ourselves.  Knowing that my SR is experiencing some of the biggest challenges of his life, which has helped challenge me.  I kind of slacked off for a few weeks, but I am back at it.  I stuck a picture of my SR by the treadmill..It helps keep me focused.  Your right, it does beat hitting the ice cream...and who knows you may accomplish some goals.  So far I have lost 10 lbs so I am pretty happy.

Let us know if you need anything or having a bad day...We are all in this together.

amy3boys:  Slacking off and still managing to lose 10 lbs??????  WOW!  Fantastic!!!  I've slacked off, but am making up for lost time by doing yard work and will be at it again tomorrow all day.  Still only dropped 2 lbs, but I refuse to give up my wine and sangria.  I'm beginning to think that might be the problem but I can't be for sure :)  Keep it up ladies, your May 15 PIR is just around the corner.  If you haven't done so already, tune in on Friday to watch the latest graduation.  I still get chills every time the door is raised and I see those marching legs!!!
