N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

coolaunt:  Yes, I understand....I just wish that they could spread them out a little more....even if just a week or so apart.  And, yes, they all get through it but having been helping on this site for over 5 yrs, some really get afraid when their SR is so sick, especially the ones whose SRs usually are not ones to get sick often.  My son was one of those....I didn't freak out, nor did he, but seems that there has to be a better way?  But whatever!  Thanks for giving the medical perspective on this AND your personal experience from getting them when you traveled.

Here's an interesting article from the Navy:

Yes, it seems like a lot. I am a nurse and I can say from experience I had these shots when I went overseas years ago... it happens so quickly they give usually two at a time. I didn't feel sick, the sites are just a little sore. they are kept moving so much, not so sure they will have any issues. It will be good to hear from those who have recently been thru it. I just wanted to let you know it should be fine. better the vaccine then the disease, the shots they are getting help protect from a broad spectrum of illnesses, especially being in an enclosed environment  like a ship.

Chetta:  Ugh....on the vaccinations.  It is hard on their bodies, in my opinion, to have so many at once....and it temporarily compromises their immune systems so that is why so many seem to get sick....but they get over it.  All have to have these, they cannot refuse any of them.  Believe me, I checked this out before my sailor went up there back in 2009....we are natural people, don't do meds....we do vitamins, etc....no vitamins allowed there and yes, they must all have all of the shots.  Try not to worry....they will be ok!

Good Morning All !  Have a great Sunday!  If any calls are to come in today, it will be after 1 pm Central because of church services this morning, which they are allowed to attend.

Thank you everyone for the info. This is very helpful to me to have you all to talk to. My son was given like 5 vaccinations already. Is that safe?

Has anyone in TG 32 received a phone call yet? Besides the 30 second call in the beginning?
