Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 928

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Tb2dari, while they may identify themselves by last name, I think they discourage us moms from using last names. I see no restriction on using first names here. Our son is Nathan H. and he sings. He attends services too, but they have many choices I believe. He attended something last week called Gospel. He went to boot with a Sailor's Bible...hope he is reading it! Every letter I send I include a verse or two that I think will lift him up. Is your son able to attend the PIR with you???? That would be so cool! Blessings!
Michelle0206, my daughter is Madeline S, and she included a last name in her letter that starts with H and is a male friend. Could be your son? She wrote about the different services they offer and has attended several. Her dad and I are happy she has been going. Great idea on the verses. No better way to inspire them than thru the word. Yes, our son was able to get some leave and meet us there. We haven't seen him since the 1st of January so we're super excited. May be the last time the 4 of us will be together for quite a while now.

tb2dari, I am thrilled for you that your son gets to attend with you! How special! Will you be empty-nesters now?

I am sure our recruits know one another, they all are spending so much time together! but there are at least two other guys with last names starting with H...my son mentioned them as friends in a letter home. I would like to think they are friends.

Praise GOD from whom all blessings flow!

Michelle 0206, yes, we are full fledged empty nesters now. Not crazy about it but we're getting adjusted to it. With both of ours being in the Navy now, we will cherish any time we can all be together.

I hope to meet all of you and your soon to he sailors at PIR. We won't be able to make the meet and greet as my son's flight don't arrive until 5:45. We've been before and it's very nice and super informative! My daughter will be staying in GL for A school so we will be staying until Tues. I'm sure our SR's will be exchanging phone numbers so they can keep in touch.
Got my gate pass printed and now just waiting on that important phone call!
Tb2dari, our son leaves Saturday at 3am for S. Carolina. We won't have too long with him, not as long as I would like. He has two guys from their division who will be going down with him, so he will have friends.
Yes, the empty nest is not a lot of fun, but an adjustment. We still have one son home, but not really ever here. He is more lost than his younger brother. I pray something clicks and he sees the opportunity the navy has given his brother and that he, too, might consider it. He has fears and lack of confidence. Hope to get to meet you too, but it's going to be super crowded there...here's to hoping!
Michelle0206, my son also trained in SC, goose creek. It's a great place to visit, well Charleston. Guessing that's where he's headed?
Yes, prayerfully your other son will soon find what interests him and pursue it with s new confidence.
It will be very crowded indeed, I remember busting through the crowd to get to my son! I hope you have an awesome visit with your son after PIR.
Navy1974, YES, HE IS NUKE! ET rate. They will leave together! Our recruit, Nathan H., told us about two guys from his division who will be going with him...you must be the mom of one!!!! So happy to meet you here, as they will take the remainder of this amazing journey together. I know our recruit was thankful to know some other guys were going with him. He has made many friends who feel like brothers...actually closer than a brother by now.
Nathan said they leave something like 3am Saturday, think they need to be at the airport by 12:30am Sat. Sadly, that means little time with them. They will want to get to sleep as early as possible, get cleaned and packed up, and spend some time with their brothers who are going in other directions.
Hope to meet you...are you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet Friday night? And if you don't mind my asking, what is your first name?
I think we are going to try to get to the airport to see our son off and give him his cell phone and charger and a few other items.
Moosemom07094, Alabama, wow, that's a long drive! Today I was hoping for a letter because it's Thursday and that's when we got one last week. We didn't get one today and I was disappointed. He must not have gotten to write Sunday. I hope YOU got one from your daughter! Our son's name is Nathan. He sings bass and is also part of ship staff. There are 50 in their division, and I sure do hope he is one of the guys being nice to her. I could imagine him being "that guy" as he is generally very friendly and thoughtful, but with so many, it could be anyone. If these are music people in their division, I imagine they are all nice and special:-) aren't all music people? Praising God today that He gave us such a gift...a friend said his participation in the music there would lift his spirits, and I think she's right! Did you say your daughter plays clarinet?
Michelle0206, my daughter plays clarinet. She really likes her division and loves playing. She was in her high school and college bands and loved it. So glad she had this chance to play for the Navy. You're right about the music lifting their spirits, it surely does! I hope you get a letter from your son this week.

I am pretty sure that your daughter and my daughter are spending a lot of time together. I sent you a friend request so I can message you.

Feeling a little down today. Haven't heard anything from our recruit in two weeks. wondering what is happening for him and hoping for a call or letter soon. I know no news is good news, but this mamma just is aching for "something".

Hi everyone, my son Nathan is in his 6th week at Boot and i have not heard anything in two weeks. Does anyone have any information on how their division, 928, is doing? anything would help.  feeling in the dark. I know 'no news is good news', but still....trying not to be a helicopter parent. May be failing at that. His PIR is 5/22/15.
