N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Georgia Girl --so glad you got a call. I'm waiting (not patiently!) for mine! My SR. said in his letter that he's the only one from NY. When I hear from him I'll pass it along! ( sorry about the pneumonia-- couple days of antibiotics he'll be back in the saddle) don't worry Mom! Yay!

Joy_Proud Mom_Navy I have not received form letter from my son. He arrived GL 4/15. You're not alone. I'm waiting with bated breath!

Momack - I asked my SR if there were any other guys in their division from Georgia. He said he is the only one, so they know each other. He doesn't know who he is though. He said they call him "Georgia."

Finally a call from my SR (12/208). He has pnuemonia and is in the hospital for the night, but is pretty much fine. Will go back to his division tomorrow. He said everything is going well and he has not been ASMO'd. Thanks for the support!

Ashley's Mom - Thanks!  It's good to know that we are not alone!  Lucky you got a phone call - how exciting!  I'm looking forward to that! Hope you get your letter soon!

Chances - Thanks!  I thought of that too but no luck there either.

The only thing I can think of (knowing about as much as you) is that if parents are divorced they sent the form letter to the other parent, thus you would not receive it.

Hey Ladies!  Quick question - Is there anyone else out there who has not received their Form Letter yet?

I did get a letter from my daughter which we were REALLY excited about but still waiting on the Form Letter.

I also found out that he tried to call his grandparents, but missed them too. What are the chances of him calling a third time? I feel so bad that he couldn't reach anyone.
