Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 201 and 202

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I was hopeful that they will come together soon.  My son is really worried because they keep telling the boys they aren't going to graduate if they keep getting hits.  He seems more worried about that then anything else & that they are going to send him home.  He was upset that because of all the hits they all already knocked out of "hall of fame".  I told him he needs to just be concerned with one day at a time.  I just got his first letters yesterday so you should get some soon.

I see some chatter about extras etc.

1. You cannot share extra "spots" at PIR if you are not using them all. This is against RTC regulations!! Remember, you all do not know each other except for on this site. If caught the consequences for your Sailors would not be good, and on top of it your Sailors liberty for the weekend can be denied.

2. While it is said the Chapel is there for overflow, the RT requests all guests not on the list remain off base. The Chapel has been used for "overflow", but it has also been denied at some PIRs. Please have your extras remain at the hotel. Most hotels are now showing the livestream somewhere within the hotel.

Please read the RTC Family Guide

That's what I thought & that was what the website said.  Thank you for clearing up the confusion.  At this point I'm just hoping there is a graduation the way my kid keeps talking.  Of couse, he says that & in the next sentence he says when you come to graduation....haha

Did anyone else get a phone call. we received a call this evening and he is doing well. Hope everyone else heard from their SR also. Have a blessed day.
Yes, I received a call from him during our church service this evening. I was so surprised and almost missed it. He is doing great. May all of you have a blessed evening.
That's great

Yes! It was a great conversation and he thinks they will get to call again next Saturday too. He also said the best letters included news clippings because that made him feel connected to the outside world. I'll include more of those...less handwriting for me!! LOL

that's fantastic

My SR called tonight, too. He was better than last weekend. The mail he is receiving helps. He may get to call every weekend for the duration. I hope so.

Anyone there?

Got a call from my son today too.  He sounded soooo much better than last weeks call & I was surprised they let them call again this week.  He still sounded worried about making it & said unit 201 started with a clean slate this week but got another 7 compartment hits during the week.  Said they are in phase 2 now so they really need to start coming together. Said everyone is coughing as something is going around. Surprised himself by passing all his physical & swimming test this week but still worried about the book work.  He was laughing & joking about the guys tho & saying he's made some friends there. Even likes some of the instructors even tho I guess 201 has some of the highest ranking ones.  Said they are tuff but fair.  Hoping to get another call next weekend for mother's day. I read all your post on here  & they keep me sane. Thanks for that.

I got a call from my SR on Sunday!  We talked for 40 minutes and he even got to talk with his sister.  He sounded really great!  Found out he was on watch when letters went out last week and that I should get 3 this week.  :)  He's said he's really glad he made the decision to join the Navy and feels that this is where he is supposed to be.  Make a momma happy!  :)  I had my 4th grade class write the division letters yesterday.  Hope to send them out tomorrow.  Some of them are really sweet!
