Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son also left on may 12. I got the box last Friday and the form letter Thursday. I quickly sent a card.
I have a question, graduation is set for july 10th. Will there be any events like a family day before or after graduation? I have a friend that her son joined the Army and they had a family day the day prior to graduation.

No family day in the Navy. There are unofficial meet-and-greets for parents the night before graduation, the most popular hosted by Old Sarge.

Hi... my son left May 12th also, he is my only son I have a daughter, but miss him terribly.
I contacted my recruiter although they say wait for the Form Letter to come in the mail to write them. They say only letters and as many as we can to keep their spirit up.

My son left may 12th as well. I feel your pain. worst mothers day ever having him leave for the hotel...Did you get your first letter from him yet? Graduation is July 2nd.. We just booked our flight and hotel. Hope theres no hang ups:)

Navymom9828, PIR will be either 07/02/2015 or 07/10/2015 depending on which division he is in. That info will be in The Form Letter.
Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

I haven't received it either I was told it could take up to 3 weeks for some.

The Form Letter arrives an average of 10 days after arrival.

My only child/son left May 12th also. Every day I look for others saying they got the form letter because he uses his Dad's address. I am impatient to make arrangements. To me it looks like PIR will be 7/10. But I'll keep on waiting.

My son left the 13th I asked the recruiter yesterday he said when he looks it up it says July 10 but to wait until I get the form letter. I got "the box" yesterday. I cried like a baby LOL.

My son will turn 19 on June 9th. I may not be so sad if he was older too ahahah. I just feel he is so young but he must spread his wings I suppose.

cristinab, I completely agree with Navymom9828. My son is 20 and moved out not too long after High School. We didn't see him much in those days. He came to his senses and decided we weren't so bad after all and we're all very close now. But it does make a difference when they're older and haven't been living at home. And now, our boys are in the same division! :)
