I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

KATIEGC: I have never heard of that at all in the last year my husband has been in. From what I know is rate is dependent on if you can go overseas but since you said that "if he gets approved" ten you should be fine. You're married right? Married is married in the military like Omaira said so idk where this person got their info from girl.

We live off base. A friend of mine is moving into base housing, but from what she has been told, she has to wait for him to get approved first. After bc.

Thanks for the info Anti M and Jenni1453! Jenni - did you move into base housing? If so, when? Was he still at BC?

They told me I couldn't live with my husband and that they wouldn't pay for anything. The recruiters tend to make general statements. I'm living with my husband, and they paid for the move. He did have to live on base for about a month while the paperwork was getting approved.

When he first arrives at Monterrey, he has to earn his liberty privileges before he can move off base with you.  2~3 weeks sounds about right.  He can't even wear civilian clothes during that time.  He'll have weekends off during the daytime, unless he has duty.  Like any A school, he has to request permission to "Live Ashore" with you.  There's a packet he gets when he arrives.

That school is long enough for a paid move as far as I know.  Plenty of spouses there.  You may be the one setting up your home and the move (they'll walk him through that too), so be sure to get a POA before he leaves.  The recruiter may simply be uninformed as to the specifics of that school; many don't have a grasp on every detail of each school.  Most are too short, language school should be well over the 20 weeks required.

I have a few questions. My SR spoke with his recruiter today - last meeting before he leaves for boot camp. But a few things came up. Recruiter said SR will have 2-3 weeks of living in barracks in Monterey when he gets there. Any married spouses experience this? And for the move, they said they won't pay for this move for a-school to Monterey. I'm just confused by all this since we've never done this before so any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm sad to say I'll be leaving this group. My fiancé and I are over. I'm okay though. How do I remove myself from this group?

Hull swap.  As in the hull of a ship.

Is he deployed or underway right now?
