Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

USS Bataan LHD-5

Group for family members of Sailors who are on the USS Bataan (LHD-5)

Members: 144
Latest Activity: Aug 25, 2019

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

Mamabear...from what I understand, there isn't a date set for the tiger cruise. There is a Facebook page for the families that your Sailor can get you into...Bataan FRG. It's a closed group, but like I said, your Sailor can get you into it...I find out a lot of what's going on by going to that Facebook page.

Forever proud- Sorry, I just now saw your post. I don't think there are very many spouses in this group. I was referring to underways being extended and/or ship communication being cut off. And the pre-deployment craziness in general... All that fun stuff :p

Hi Goat - i'm not a wife, but a mom. What kind of frustration are you experiencing? Or have you worked it out already?

My email is whodamom@verizon.net if you would like to communicate. I can take a photo of the old homestead for you. We shouldn't block up this posting with personal stuff. Stay in touch.
