OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello!

"Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works,

which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us

cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would

declare and speak of them, they are more then

can be numbered."

Psalm 40:5

Awesome ProudParents!!!

We got a call today from our SR son in 211. At times it was hard to hear with the RTCommander in the background yelling at them waiting to use the phone, I almost thought I was out of line for a minute. haha.. Anyway, good to hear from him. Things are progressing with the division but I guess the RDC's got upset that they failed the Marlin Spike drill and got on them for that until they cooled off when they passed the Inspection. Found out my SR knows a couple of your SR's and visa versa. I think they think we're pretty savy. :) Working on their marching for graduation, he did well with his PFA and gun training. Fire fighting is this week. He has lost about 10 lbs although he was never over weight, a lot of running! So that's in a nutshell for now. Happy Memorial Day to all our Navy Family!
