My son's PIR is 6/12 then he'll go to MA school. Is there a graduation ceremony that families can attend?

Just joined. My son will graduate BC 06/05. Next stop, Lackland!  Poor guy, sending an Alaskan to Texas in the summer.

My son used the dawn dish soap and baby shampoo when he got back to his room. They were told not to use milk or yogurt.

Huskies, my son graduated from MAA in October. I too sent the baby shampoo and told him to purchase yogurt the day before the OC Spray. Unfortunately, he wasn't allowed to use any of it. They were only allowed to use the water that was provided (by a hose). It will hurt for a good 2 hours, but your son will get through it. Then he will be uncomfortable for a day or two. The good thing was that I was able to speak with him right after he was sprayed; this was a diversion for him.I was so relieved when it was over; my sailor could then focus on his studies! Send me a message and I can explain a few things that may help.

Hi everyone! I just joined this group and have read a few pages of posts. My son arrived in San Antonio on Feb. 8th and he begins his classes today. I did give him the dawn and the baby shampoo at the airport. This OC spray sounds awful yet why are they taking pictures and some even said it was fun!? What exactly is this all about and what happens to them? Why are they "changed" and "confident" after this?

Hey Gals I wanted to let yas know I've completed some of my BOOT CAMP journal pages. They have come out great and I am very proud of them. they are a great way to memorialize your SR's journey through boot camp. I hope you love them as much as me. Each section has been carefully thought out.

Hello all, my daughter is coming home early December and is due to fly to her post right before Christmas and she said that she might get to stay over Christmas.  Does anyone know if they typically hold right before Christmas?

Wefixit - my son graduated in September.  We weren't able to make it either.  He tooks pictures afterwards and sent them to us. Everyone was more than willing to take pictures of him for us.  He came home the next day.  Hang in there.  You'll see her soon!

Does anyone have a Sailor graduating MAA today?  Ours is graduating today and we can't be there and it's killing us!  Hope we can get some pictures.  She hasn't received her orders yet, so we don't know when she'll be coming home.  Miss my Sailor!
