N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

amjaei,  Sounds like your daughters RDC put a fire under his/her divisions butts. :) No worries!!!!!!  It is very common at this point to hear that "threat" from a RDC, and it is just that...a threat.

First of all, entire divisions are not held back, individuals in a division can be, but not entire divisions. It sounds to me like there might be a few in the division who still aren't getting the whole BC thing, or the RDC just knows they all can do better.

What it does is make those who want to be Sailors, become Sailors, and it helps to weed out the few that are left that don't. There is nothing like a "You aren't going to make it are you?", to put a fire under a divisions butt, in the last few weeks of BC, to pull them together.

Take a deep breath, let it out, then breathe in again slowly...all is well!! It is just some negative reinforcement to bring them together. It happens!

*it will NEVER happen

Comment by diannep on May 24, 2015 at 8:25pm

amjaei:  Although they are threatened that the whole division may be held back, it will ever happen.  It is just a threat....to motivate them to work together.  However, individual SRs could be setback in training if they don't work hard!  Write her and encourage her....tell her that you know that they do not hold back entire divisions from "sources," but know they try to motivate with this.  Maybe she could keep this to herself so the ones who need the motivation work hard thinking that it could happen!  Just keep encouraging her and reminding her that it will get better, and A School is a whole different thing!  Much better.  Communication is then back!
