*then they fly to A School (assuming that they are not attending A School in GL....those sailors will just be moving over to that base, obviously!).

ZetaMom:  I will share what I know about FIT.  They get a chance to pass their test every 48 hrs during the week....I understand they get about 10-12 more tries.  Once they pass, they do BattleStations and are sailors, but will not have a PIR.  They will have a short Liberty (if there is any way family members are close enough to go see them, it would be great!  No "heads up" though for advanced planning)...and then they fly to A School.

Prayers that your almost-sailor is giving you a great call soon!

Father, in the coming days I will need You, but my recruit will need You more. Let him perform his tasks with a sense of duty, not of anger or vengeance. Let his reflexes be quick and his hands steady. Let his head be clear and his eyes sharp. Let his mind and body be strong and his spirit stronger. Christ, please stand by my recruit and watch his back when he cannot. Father, I love this recruit of mine! Take from ME, what he needs and give me what he does not. I will pace the nights, if it means he gets some sleep. I will deal with fatigue, if it means he will have energy. I will carry his fear if it means it gives him courage. I will take his pain, if it means he is healthy and whole. I will take his anger, if it means he is at peace. Take from me my love and pride and let him feel it! Let him know that I am with him every step of the way. Please, take from me what You can; I give it willingly and with love. It is all I have besides my prayers. Above all, please help my recruit achieve his goal of becoming a United States Sailor. This I ask on bended knee, that which I cannot do without You. AMEN

Hello. I'm so grateful for this group. My SR is now in the FIT division and I really want him to know that everything is ok. What happens next?

Comment by diannep on April 16, 2015 at 3:19pm

Yes, krissi....if he didn't pass by his PIR date, he would be here in FIT and still trying.  I believe he gets 10-12 chances...once he passes, he does BattleStations, may have a short Liberty, and heads to A School, no PIR in that case.  I see you posted on the 2nd so hoping that just maybe he got it done before his PIR?  Since you got the call so early, he should have had at least 2 more chances to make it before PIR.  Did he???  I hope so!
