From what I know from this site if they go to A school in Gl they have a 3 to 5 hour transition where they are processed over to A school literally 30 to 60 minutes after visiting with family after pir and hey have to be signed out and have a buddy or an adult with them at all times also when they are not in a hotel room they have to be in uniform even to step out and smoke or something! Now ur husband gets overnight liberty since he is flying to Ca . I will look up the liberty info on that for you! I do know that there will be paperwork and transition time after pir for your husband and the uniform and buddy system applies along with being signed out this if for their safety and security due to threats on home and foreign soil! If there is a pool u will use he has to have his pt uniform to swim in since it's public!
Yeah finally someone with the same RTC date! Prayers and wishing you, your Daughter, and family them best!

My SR son starts BC on the 10th as well!  So proud of them all.

Hi Everyone,
Can't believe it is June 1st!!! This means we are down to T minus 23 days until my son leaves for BC. We had his going away party this past weekend! It was a HUGE success. My son had requested a Low Country Boil. It was a total hit. This week will go by really fast because he is working a summer camp (fishing) I am beginning to feel like I don't have extra time with him anymore. Yes, I know this is a normal! Just wanted to say hello to all the new mom & dads who are sending their sons/daughters to the Navy! Have a great week! God bless the SR!!
Happy Friday to all the moms, wives, and loved ones of those that have bc in june! Thinking of those that have loved ones that just started bc! For those.that leave next week I am feeling an anxietyand nervousness I have never felt before. What a rollercoaster!

Reading all of your posts and glad to hear that my being so emotional seems normal. My son is 20 and leaves on June 15th to his hotel and ships out to BC on June 16th. I am so happy for him but going to miss him so much. He is the first one in our family to really venture out and first one ever to go into the military. I am so proud! Enjoy being able to read other stories on here and also be provided a lot of good information.

Hi Smiley34,

Mine left on 6/17/15.  Glad to meet another mom who will have the same graduation date.  I agree, this site is a god send.  So glad to hear other families going through this.  So proud, but missing him so much already.

Has anyone left from the Tampa area? My son leaves on the 24th of this month.
I was told we could go to swearing in but nothing else! I was hoping to have dinner that night.

Hello! My son is leaving from Tampa. My son goes to his hotel this evening and we were told we could have dinner with him but not sure what time he has to be back to his room. We will have this information shortly as he has to meet with his recruiter before heading to his hotel. Tomorrow he swears in and they said we will have about 15 minutes with him.

My son leave 23 June from fort walton beach fl

Hi,  Mine left 6/17/15.  Wow, can't believe how fast the DEP program went!
