Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 189 and 190

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi fellow moms/spouses of SR on ship 14. My SR is in division 190. Whom is able to attend PIR? Have you received a letter recently and what do they say about their division, their bunkmates and the training being experienced? I did receive a less than 5min call on Sat 4/11 saying doing good under the challenges and received a letter on 4/17 saying same and that they had prime rib for Easter dinner and the food on ship 14 is great. My SR also wrote a poem too. Well that's about it from this mom about her SR in division 190. Hope to hear from others in this division group.

I'm a fellow mom. My son is in Div 189 ship 14. I have received a couple calls and letters now. He also says the food is good and things are getting better. He mentioned he has met a couple really nice guys which makes things easier. He said the training isn't that bad and is happy he was working out a lot prior to going in. Of course really missing home.

I heard from my SR last night and explained passed 1st PFA and swim test. Based on passing 1st time around my SR was honored with being on the Ship Staff for Ship 14 which is the USS Arizona. My SR is so happy that participated in PT while in DEP before reporting for bootcamp. My call was about 15mins, but still not enough time to talk about everything that is on your mind when your SR is so excited to just being able to talk a their loved one at home, this being their mom!

Hello my son is also ship 14 div 190.

hi Jackie, I see you too are from California. My SR is 19yrs old and is keeping the nose to the grindstone. Told me on Sunday that there is barely any time for anything. Also sent me 5 letters and I have 4 of them, so I know I have one more to come. My SR said they got 2 of my letters out of 3 so far, with another one in the mail. I numbered mine on the back of the envelope, so my SR knows what letter is received and so far in the order sent. When on the phone with our SRs they want to talked about all kinds of things, that I forget to ask those questions or don't have the right moment to asked my questions, so I have to write to ask those questions. I believe today is 3-3 DOT (wk3-day3 day of training), getting closer to the hardcore week four.

Hello all, I am signing out since my SR had called to inform that they will be home in 2wks from now. My SR got DQd and there wasn't another job that was worth to take the place of the job DQd from. So my SR made to choice to just come home and not take a job that my SR would not like or hate to take the place of the one lost. My SR has the option to come on back in 12 months if the desire is still there or if nothing else can fill in the void like the Navy would have.

Thank you for your prayers, support and sharing your SR with me, blessings, mrboysmom

Hi All

My son is in the Ship 14 Div 189 group and we are headed to the PIR this Wednesday. I am new to this website and not really sure how to connect but throwing my hat in the ring anyway.

I don't think so, we have family to pick up at the airport .
