Is there any mom out there with a Son or daughter in Power school. My son just started and finished preschool and has been in power school for about 2 weeks now. Would love to hear about other mom's  stories about their child's experiences.

Thanks

My son Nick graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in December 2010.  He leaves next week for OCS in Newport.  He'll then train to work on submarines in Charleston.  I've picked up a lot of information about OCS on this site, but still have some questions.  Assuming Nick doesn't "roll," when can I expect him to graduate?  Is it usually the Friday of the 12th week?  I have heard most people arrive for graduation on Wednesday late afternoon and stay until Sunday.  Is that what you did?  Is your LO able leave OCS at that time, too?  Thanks!

My son graduates from OCS 9/10/10. My son will be on a surface ship.

We are trying to decide how long to stay in Rhode Island after OCS graduation. I assume they get the whole weekend off.

Hi Barbara:

Yes, my son did nuke school as enlisted. He just finished up in August and is in the process of applying to officer school. I don't know when he will hear on that. My understanding is he will go to Officer School and then go back to Charleston and do the nuke school as an officer. Where did your son go to Officer School? Did he just graduate from college? You will enjoy Charleslton. When you go, let me know and I'll tell you about the places we went. There are so many things to do there!

Hi Barbara:

I was just curious, my son has finished nuke school as of August, he has applied to officer school, but in the meantime is on hold. Did your son do officer school in college or is he just starting the nuke program as an officer? Charleston is a nice place to be for awhle.
