I don't think you will regret reading it.  In fact I think it can help us all to be stronger.

I may reconsider. Hmmmm

I think it's safe to say that the book is not a sad book persay.  Yes, you will want to keep your Kleenex close by because some of the stories that the author shares are sad but that is not what the whole book is about. It's a way of helping us to understand the reasons why someone chooses to serve. What I took from the book is a better appreciation of what my son is doing and how I can be more supportive of his decision.  It's truly a sisterhood!

Sorry for your loss, Besties. The suncatcher is a beautiful memento.

Rainbow Bridge...so sweet. I lost a nephew to suicide about 10 years ago. His little brother drew a picture of him crossing a bridge and on the other side was the family dog that had died some time before. I always think of my nephew in a warm way when I hear of Rainbow Bridge.

I don't think I will read "Be Safe, Love Mom" while my son is still in the navy. My mother's heart just can't do it right now. N4Ms has been keeping me on an even keel and I think that will just be too much.

CoTwin, I hope your son let's you know what's up. It's hard not knowing. How's the job hunt doing?

Hi all - Happy Hump Day!

I won't let you down 1proudmama!

Besties4dogs - so sorry to hear about your Teddy.  Very hard when we lose one of our fur babies.  Sounds like you had a good time at Fleet Week. Happy Belated Anniversary! Sending big hugs your way.....

I finished reading "Be Safe, Love Mom".  A really good book, keep your Kleenex handy!

Welcome NukeMomCarol and thank you for your words.  My sailor will be in two years this August so I don't know too much but will be happy to answer any questions that I can.

Comment by NukeMomCarol on May 27, 2015 at 9:41am

Besties, I am new here. So happy that you were able to get a hug in even if it was not your son and so sorry to hear about your loss. Perhaps Teddy sent you the suncatcher from above
