N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello Trish: My son is in Div 223 with your son. I also go a letter yesterday. He said that the mail is weird because some days he gets 3 letters while other days he gets none. He also mentioned that many people in their division were sick but that they were being taken care of. My son was excited because he thought they were being issued their dress whites/blues soon. We can't wait for PIR!

Trish: take care Hun, good thing is he writes what he is feeling,
Diannep: I've sent letters but yet haven't received any from my SR.

Thanks for the information Diannep. After crying to my husband We figured the same thing. Just broke my heart to read his letter. He sounded so sad. Can't wait to see him on the second of July. Miss him so much.
Comment by diannep on May 30, 2015 at 12:02am

Once the held mail is given to them (usually on a Sunday about 2 weeks after arrival), they are to receive mail M-F, and able to mail out Mondays (collected on Sundays).

Trish:  It is possible that they got their held mail after he had written his letter to you.  Sometimes that happens.

My SR said that he's had a really bad virus this past week. With him not receiving any letters he was clearly upset. I'm feeling so sad today. Could barely get through reading his letter. I was under the impression that they could get mail everyday but could only write letters on Sunday's. Any thoughts? Has anyone had this problem?

Just got my second letter. My SR is in division 223. He hasn't received any letters and my family has sent many. Has anyone else had this problem?
