For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello
It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Very small world! I was reading our church bulletin and saw one of our members' son is stationed at the Marine Corp Recruit Depot-SD, CA. I never paid attention to anything military before this! (Also found out her recruiter goes to our church)

Honestly I did not think about the legal aspects of registering a car. I assumed that because MN is her permanent address that it would be ok. I probably should have checked.
When my daughter was home on leave in Dec we went to a local consignment store and one of the clerks has a relative that was thinking about joining the Navy. Well...yesterday I went to that shop and the clerk remembered me and asked how my daughter was doing in the Navy. A woman in the store perked up and said "My son is in the Navy". So of course we started to talk about our kids. Her son is on the USS Carl Vincent and he will be based in San Diego!

DepthCharge4. My daughter has her car registered in MN. LOL...I do not think your girl will have room for her bedroom set in the barracks. Does she plan on moving off base soon? Are you planning on visiting her in Coronado?

I guess she won't be taking her bedroom furniture! Does she have to register her car in that state?

DepthCharge4...I would compare the space to college dorm rooms. What kind of furniture? the space is really limited. My daughters first room was lofted bunk beds with a small desk under it and a small closet.

Ladies, my daughter received her welcome aboard email from her sponsor at her first duty station and thinks she will be driving herself from home leave. She is wanting her car there and probably some of her bigger furniture items. Where do your PACT sailors live on base and is it more like A-school living quarters where bunks and simple bedroom furniture is provided?
