Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Happy early birthday!!!!
I might need to get names of those apartments when we go meet the ship many months down the road. I figure when ships come in, navy lodge and gateway are packed!!! Ryan is doing great. He emails about once every other day. Of course sometimes it just says "hi-going to bed." Lol. But that is ok- at least I hear from him! The time change makes it tough but if I hear my phone go off we can email back and forth. He hurt his foot the other day and had it X-rayed because they thought he broke it but it is just a bad sprain! Splash- have fun on your trip!!

I did not rent a car because Francesca bought one and my other daughter drove from AZ. If she did not have a car i would rent one.
It is nice that the girls are close. They get together as often as they can. Even though they are almost 12 yrs apart they are good friends. Frankie and a friend went to AZ for Memorial weekend.

I hope you have a great Birthday! what a great way to honor your parents.

As far as the Navy Lodge I am did not think they open reservation 30 day prior. I thought that the Navy Gateway does that. But I am wrong about many things.  I am going to see her in November. Her Birthday is 11/2. She wants me to come the week after. I am sure so she can be with her friends....LOL!

I am going to Kingman AZ. My daughter is a Nurse Practioner working as a provider in a clinic. She went there because she is then eligible for Federal loan repayment. She got her Doctorate degree and has HUGE student loans. It is a 6 hour drive to SD.

I am glad Michael likes SD and that he has made some good friends. It is a nice place.

Michaels mom...is your birthday coming up soon? June 5th...correct?

Comment by splash on June 1, 2015 at 10:05pm

Michael's mom. I think it is great that your husband is going to school. I left my house last night and tried to respond to you from my phone. I have a new phone and for the life of me could not figure out how to comment and the at work today I tried to respond from my work computer and was having issues. Uggh...old and computers do not always mix well.

Are you getting excited for your trip to SD? Are you staying at the Navy Lodge?  I am going to be in AZ from Jun 28-Jul 5. My daughter and her husband bought a house and also just took in 2 young foster boys (they hope to adopt) so I am going to watch the kids while they move and work on their new house. I am trying to figure out a way to get over to SD to see Francesca for even a day. I don't think it is going to work out but I am trying. I do not think she will be coming home for a while.  Is Michael getting excited? does he like SD?

Welcome new moms!

Michael's mom. Looking back I also wish I would have joined the Military. And like you, not many girls joined when I was young either.  Are you going to school or your husband? Either way that is great! I

I was like you and never paid attention to anything military either. My dad was in the Air Force but got out when I was a newborn. I know that he liked it and said that it changed his life. My oldest daughter (31) came to me when she was just out of high school and told me she wanted to join the Army and I freaked out. Now 12 years later and $260k in student loans...I probably should have at least listened to her.  My Navy daughter started looking at the Navy because I could not get any more student loans and she wanted to move forward with her life and not wait. She was looking at reserves and one day came home from a DEP meeting and told us she was going active duty because it sounds like fun.
