Good Morning to Everyone.
Well the temps are picking up. Today we are suppose to be in the low 90's. Not good for the 2 forest fires in Eastern Washington. One of them is 47% contained the other one just started and has taken out 28 house last night is on 2% contained. So pray for all those families that have just lost there homes because of these fires. The 1st fire they are thinking someone started. Last nights fire they have not figured out yet if it was lighting or by someone. We are safe. I live about 100 miles or more from these fires. But it is so dry here it won't take much. I am a little worried with the 4th coming. I am planning to water my hay before I leave to go to the public display. I can't call it grass any more it is hay. LOL. Hope everyone is safe and have a good Wednesday.
Good Morning to Everyone
Anna, the fires are in Eastern Washington. We get the smoke but are far enough away that we don't have to worry about the fires yet. It has a big mountain to go through before it gets to Seattle.
Oh MamaBear,
You have much loftier viewpoints on my hiking skills!!!! We rode in their car to the top!!!! We did walk around up there at the top taking pictures and such, and that was enough to keep us all huffing and puffing!!!! One of the women working up there cautioned us that people unaccustomed to high elevations do get sick and it can become serious. I felt that with all the hiking we've done in the past couple months in elevations up to 8000 feet I was a little better prepared than my friend but then she is also battling some health issues so it was understandable that she couldn't do much walking around at all. But it was well worth it. Later this week hubby and I want to take the train back up to the top!!!!
Love your verse, sorry about your bike ride!!!!
Julyasmom,
Like Vickyrun said, that was the same as my daughter. She was for all intents and purposes a seaman recruit just like everyone else and only had one stripe during bc. Once she passed Battlestations she put the three stripes on her uniform for PIR. I'm also not 100% sure about her pay, if she received E3 pay all during bc!!
Jean,
I've been hearing about those fires. They aren't near Seattle or near you or your family are they??? Hope you get your normal weather pattern back soon. I'm surprised by the afternoon rain storms we're getting here in Colorado Springs. Every afternoon you can see the clouds roll in over the mountains and then the scattered showers, sometimes heavy, sometimes accompanied with lightning strikes and hail!!!!! And then local flooding!!! Yesterday there was snow and hail on top of the Peak and there was the 92nd annual auto race to the top of the Peak scheduled for that day. They had to postpone the race for awhile and then also moved the finish line down the mountain aways so no one was trying to get all the way to the top. Strange weather!!!
Good morning all, I had a slow weekend. But I muddled through. Sometimes being single sucks.
Julyasmom, I don't think she actually "goes in" as E-3. In boot camp they are all recruits. She will have the rank of SR. If she passes then she will skip E-2 and get promoted to E-3. That is what my daughter did. Because she had two years of college before joining. I am not sure about pay but in BC they are all treated the same. She is not a sailor until she passes battle stations , you will get a call and if she passes and she will say the scripted "I am a Sailor"
MamaBear, yes we do but most of the areas have ban fireworks any way so we all go to public deplays. We always go to the same one every year. It is right next to the fire house in a town called Edmonds. It is by the water so it should be a little bit cooler there, I hope at least.
Good Morning to Everyone.
Well with our dry weather we are getting dry thundershowers. We have a lot of forest fires burning because of the storm that went past yesterday and early this morning. We did get a little rain yesterday but not enough to help with the temperatures that we are having. At least for the next few days we are in the low 80's. But for the 4th we are back up in the 90's again. What ever happened to Washington didn't start summer until after the 5th. LOL. Weird weather all over the place for everyone. Keep safe everyone. Have a fantastic Monday.
