While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 816
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

You're welcome. From the "late arrival" of 816 to the group, don't be alarmed if you don't receive many phone calls above the "expected" one about midway through training, and the "I am a Sailor" call.
The 800 divisions are busier than the regular divisions, and I am only guessing, but it appears they might be Push (a shorter amount of time to get in the same amount of training). No worries if that is the case, they will still get it all done!

They will!! They are in good hands!! I keep praying for my son. He actually went with two other guys he became friends with at the navy recruit office before they left. They are good people and I'm sure they will make your son feel that he is surrounded by people he can trust and that are willing to invite friends into a brotherhood they will all be forming. I will keep your son in my prayers too.

If it is any consolation, our family has heard nothing either, but these men and women are up to the challenge of having to form late and also be a push division.

Does anyone know if the 800 division pictures are posted walking through the tunnel on the RTC facebook page? I know current posted pictures are through June 20th, but I doubt our SRs were up and marching through the tunnel that early in their rotation.. If not, I can stop scanning the 700 or so pictures posted weekly.

Once in a great while you will catch a glimpse of an 800 division on the FB page, but not very often.
I am guessing part of the reason is as soon as they are posted everyone starts tagging or saying something about their recruit in that division, not a good idea especially for those recruits. Not only does it most likely have the recruits full name out there, but city, state, and any more info the post my offer with a little research. Too much info on spec ops recruits!

I am so happy I found this website!! My boyfriend left two weeks ago, and I have never actually known anymore who was in the military, so this is all so new to me! His brother received a letter with his address yesterday, I just mailed him my letters today. Is there a time frame? How often do they get their mail? and what does SR mean?

Hi Katie, SR stands for sailor recruit.
I'm new to all this as well but from what I have read they get mail call daily but there is a 7 to 10 day turn around time for them to receive their letters. Your SR may not get to write you often but keep writing him, he will appreciate his letters -

If we get a phone call, it should come the week after the 4th of July. I am actually not expecting anything because of the 4th. Does anyone know if the SRs fall behind another day because of the 4th of July? I know they do not celebrate it with the base so what exactly are they doing on the holiday. I have received both the box and form letter. I'm thinking I'll only get the "i am a sailor call". This is a special holiday for all of us as our loved ones are away. I will keep all the SRs in my prayers and give thanks to all the men and women this 4th who protect our country.
