Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 273 and 274

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi, all! Our son is in Div 273. We are anxiously awaiting to hear from him. Has anyone received a social call or additional letter? I'm hoping they have some time this weekend with it being a holiday. I'm counting down the days until August 14th!

Hi tmansmom.  My son is also in Div 273.  We got his form letter last Friday, but no personal letter yet.  We are also hoping this weekend will be a call.  Please keep us posted if you hear from him.

Can't wait until 8/14 as well.  We hope to make our hotel reservations this week.  I'm so glad there are four tickets this time.  My girlfriend went through this last year with her son, and he only got 3 tickets.

Hello! My son is in Div 274. I received a social call this morning at 6:30am. He said he would be calling again Saturday.

Here is a picture of the USS Marvin Shields...

So happy for you! Our sons are together in Div 273 so this gives me hope that I have a letter on the way!

hoping and praying you will all receive your letters soon,he mailed his out on the 28th, it was so good to hear something from him, he said he has met a really goog friend named vickers??  I am so looking forward to meeting all of you at the meet and Greet the nite before.   He says things are to be as expected.  a little rough in the beginning but getting better every day, looing forward to becoming a USN Sailor.  Praying ladies, I =t should come this week.

So happy for you!  My son is also in Div 273... Can't wait to hear from him!

Geek moment: I think it's incredibly awesome that the ship my son is living in is the USS Marvin Shields - why? Well, because CM3 Shields is the one and only Seabee to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and because we live a few minutes drive away from Camp Shields (a Seabee base named for CM3 Shields)in Okinawa! Kiddo wanted to be a Seabee but it wasn't in the cards when he saw the MEPS detailer. Maybe this is a sign that it still might happen. In any case, nifty coincidence!
That is so cool!
No personal letter yet. I think I would have done a backflip if I had received a letter today. Knowing my son, I am not expecting too many letters. I would rather be surprised than disappointed. :-). My son is also in DIV 273.

Hi LPM.  No letter for me either.  I've been running to the mailbox all week.  LOL
