Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 269 and 270

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello!  My son is in Div 269, and I'm looking for other moms with sons in the same division!  I know of one off the top of my head, but I know there are more!  And....hope we get phone calls this weekend!!!

My son is in 269 as well...I have been praying for a phone call also. I just need to hear his voice!! It will make me relax and feel so much better!

Nice to meet you, LisaDH1970!  I am so hoping they get to make calls this weekend, too.  This 'no communication' is killing me lol!  We all would feel better if we could just hear their voice, even for a minute, I know.  My sons' name is Bradley...'Brad' is what he usually calls himself.  I call him by his full name...it's a momma thing lol.  What is your sons' first name, if you don't mind me asking?  I'd like to ask my son if he knows him.  I have met some wonderful moms on this site, and it really helps to feel connected.  Are you going to the meet and greet on August 13?

Hey there lawlady, No I don't mind...My sons name is Jacob he goes by Jake or Jacob depending on the time and day...LOL I generally call him Jake unless I am irritated then it is full on Jacob. I am planning on going to the meet and greet on the 13th as that is the day my husband and I are flying in. We are staying at the Navy Lodge so it should be fairly easy to get there..I have also met quite a few people on here as well as on facebook and am looking forward to putting names to faces. I am anxiously awaiting my first real contact either letter or phone call. I know alot of parents have already recieved their first letters from their recruit. Jake is not a big letter writer so I would not be surprised if I dont hear anything until the first call...Who knows. I truly hope we get calls this weekend. What I do  know is I am carrying my phone around like a teenager and I am not sure how I feel about that...Ughhhhh!!!! I hope we both hear something soon!!!

My husband and I are staying at the Navy Lodge as well!  My sons' best friend is riding up with us, too!  Bradley will love that!  We are driving from Alabama straight thru on Thursday, leaving at what my dad always called 'dark-thirty' lol!  It's about a 12 hour ride...at least that's what my husband calculated.  I love road trips, so I'm really looking forward to the drive.  I haven't received any letters yet, either.  I've been running to the mail box every day, practically stalking the mail truck, lol.  And just like you, my phone never leaves my side.  This past Sunday I left it charging in my kitchen while I went and made my bed and straightened up my room...you should have seen me when it dawned on me that I left it in another room...I ran like an idiot to grab it, certain I had missed his call!  I would have been heartbroken a hundred times over if I had.  Hopefully yes, this weekend we will all hear something!

LisaDH1970,

Good morning, it is nice to know that we share a commonality-Div 269! August 14 cant come soon enough!

Hi Trae's mom! I am so sorry I have not responded to you sooner. I honestly did not see your post as I think it was lost in the mix...lame excuse but true. Anyway how is your son holding up. I have heard from my son a few times and right now he says he is getting used to life in Great Lakes. I am so glad he is acclimating well. For him the toughest part is not being able to sleep during down time and not being able to speak to us. He is a mama's boy and we have a really close family. Other than that he is completely happy with his decision. I miss him greatly and can't wait to see him on 8/14...I truly hope your son is acclimating well also.

lawlady 1963,

Good morning, my son is in Div 269 also! I am a proud mom awaiting 8/14/15.  It has been hard but Im hanging in there.  I have received one letter from my son since his arrival.  His "box" was sitting in my complex's office for 10 days without anyone notifying me.  I was checking the mail everyday and waiting for the box to be delivered.  Finally, my son's girlfriend got a hold of someone at the mail center in GL and we were informed that his box was signed for on June 22 by a staff member at our complex office.  I was livid at the fact that no one from the office bothered to notify me.  I still have not received the form letter and have not spoke to my son yet but I write everyday since I received a letter from him. IT is nice to meet you!

Oh I would be livid too!!!  You're waiting for it all this time, and it is right there.  They really should have notified you that you had a package.  Well, I am glad you finally got it!  You haven't received the form letter yet?  That usually comes just a few days after the box.  There is a password in there that you will need to get thru the gate at RTC.  If you haven't already, I would call someone about that as well.

Will you be going to the meet and greet the night before?  We are planning on being there, and hopefully we will all finally meet each other!

lawlady,

Good morning, I apoligize for just responding.  I havent been on this site for a coupe of days.  I received the form letter on Monday and at first I thought that it was a regular letter from my son.  At first, I was disappointed because it wasnt a personal letter from him but then the excitement kicked in when I saw the graduation date.  It dawned on me-just a few more weeks!!!!

I tried to reserve our hotel at the Navy Lodge but it is full so I couldnt get a reservation there.  I did get a room booked.  My niece works for the airlines so I am waiting to hear about discounted tickets.  I havent received a call from my son so I am a little down about that.  However, I am in prayer that he may get the opportunity to call before graduation.

We plan to come to the meet and greet on the night before and look forward to meeting everyone!  Not much longer is what I keep teeling myself!

Hi my son is in Div 270. I'm so glad to know they are getting to know each other. I'm praying every night for them! Hope to meet you all at the meet and greet.

We will be there, as far as I know (at the meet and greet).  I hope to meet you, too!  If you don't mind me asking, what is your sons' first name?  I want to tell my son about the wonderful moms I have 'met' here, and would like to ask him if he knows your son.  My son is Bradley...but he calls himself 'Brad'.
