N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

KimsQuads, I am guessing by the date your son got there you are in the correct PIR date, I have been fooled before though. :)

Hang here and when the letter arrives, and of your son ends up in the next PIR, you can jump ship to the next group.

Being optimistic...haven't gotten the letter & hoping my son will have the 8/21/15 PIR.  He arrived at RTC on evening of 6/24.  Based on all I've read I know there is a chance he could be put into the following weeks PIR if there isn't enough recruits to fill his Division.  I will feel so much better once I get that form letter!  It's gonna be a long weekend:(  For one of the first times ever I'm thinking..."Come on Monday"  lol

so sorry...Kelley The recruit filled out the few blank sections with the new recruit writing...I finally can read his handwriting...lol.  Other than the ship/div and PIR the rest I all learn from this site. But it was good seeing it.

Kelley:  When the letter finally comes, it will be exciting enough to make up for the disappointments going on now!  Hoping it will be soon.  Sometimes the letter can take a while, depending on when they fill a particular division, the mail service, and where you live re: Great Lakes.

Still no letter for us. It's getting rather depressing running home from work every day and getting nothing in the mailbox besides ads and junk. So glad for you jbf2006! I cannot wait for August 21st!

OMG...got the letter this morning...finally was mailed on the 30th. even though the recruiter knew it last Thursday..

Crossing my fingers (yet not getting my hopes up) for "the" letter today. It would help me sleep better after two 12 hour shifts and 3 hours of sleep in between. Have a wonderful day everyone!
