My daughter graduated from boot camp in Great Lakes on July 2nd.  She is now at A school in San Antonio.  I will go see her this Thursday!!!!  She had a rough time in boot camp and said that the cards an letters that she got were the most important thing.  When they go to the mail room, its a really big deal to get something.  Everyone gets excited.  I wrote every day and sent cute cards when I didn't have much to write about.  Don't expect many letters.  The only get time to write on Sundays, so I received letters from her on Thursdays.  Keep writing mom, you will help her get through this. I now hear from my daughter every day.

Christy, It does get better!  The first couple of weeks are the hardest.  My daughter graduated from boot camp 2 weeks ago and is now in SanAntonio for A school.  I now get to speak with her daily and it is great!!  You will get letters and phone calls throughout boot camp.  Just be positive for her because it's really tough for them, they are in complete shock!  Write, write, write!! My daughter said that the letters and cards really helped, send photos from home also!!  Everyone here will help you through this time, just lean on us!

Good Morning to Everyone.

Christy, hugs for you and your family. Once you start getting her letters it will be much better. Keep writing her. It does help.

Well today is day 5 of our daughter being in Boot Camp, and let me tell you this is one of the hardest things my family has had to go through not being able to talk to her. We miss her so very much and her little sister is really taking it hard not being able to share the sister moments like painting each other's nails, fixing each other's hair or sharing outfits. Every time we start talking about her I always tear up. My husband posts on her Facebook everyday telling her about our day even though he knows she can't see it but later on she will eventually see them it makes him feel better. We are a very close family and at dinner we always talk about each other's day and we just want to hear her voice to see how her day went. That's what is truly hard. I know we are not the only family that feels that way I just needed to say that. But we are soooo very proud of the young lady she has been come and the choice she made to better herself by joining the Navy. We are a very proud Navy Family.

Good morning all,

No spyder013, I saw her in April of this year before she left on her 2nd deployment. I meant it was 3 years ago that we spent the 4th of July together. I see her about once  a year so very rare to spend any kind of Holiday with her.

Good Morning to Everyone.

Hope everyone's 4th was fantastic.

Vickierun...3 years? I can't imagine that length of time without seeing my daughter...I'm so sad for you.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th and special prayers for our sailors wherever they are.

Good morning/afternoon to Everyone.
Have a safe day and wet things down before you start your fireworks. We are in the upper 80's today. Tomorrow we are back into the 90's again. There might be some mid 70's by next weekend. Yea!!!
Everyone be safe and enjoy.

Hi all, Thanks Anna,

Last time I saw my sailor on the 4th of July was 2012. Birthdays and Holidays I miss her the most. I don't even know where she is, out sailing "the seven seas" was the last email I got from her.

Comment by Anna on July 3, 2015 at 9:03pm

Wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July!!!  Celebrate safely and sending Fair Winds and Following Seas wishes to all our sailors where ever they may be!!!

Jean,

Cute picture!!  She is such a doll!!! Hope everything goes well with this temp agency for you!!!!

Lovey,

That is good news and I hope things keep improving along those lines!!!!  Maybe he just needs some coaxing!!!!

MamaBear,

You should be able to contact her recruiter who processed her and he can get you her address.  It is frustrating when you can't send her your letters yet!!!!

Vickyrun,

It may seem like a small thing - changing the name he uses to refer to him mom, but it's still a little dig towards your daughter.  I really hope that as he gets older he understands that his mom didn't abandon him like I'm sure his dad and stepmom may be discreetly doing!!!
