N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning!

Yes, calls from Bootcamp can and many times do come this early!  Keep that phone on you at all times....even in the bathroom and when stepping out to get the mail/take out the trash!  :-)  No worries....if they don't leave a message, it could be a "need info" call and they will call again (these are supervised calls)....but if they leave a message, then it is just a hi there call usually.

Tonya:  Gates open at 6:30.  Plan to be there then.  You will want a choice of seating in your section and you will be surprised how early some get there to claim that!

Missducky, my brother in law graduated a month ago. He got to call and talk that first weekend because his group or him, something, won a contest or did well at something. Anyhow it was a reward. My husband has called twice, but each have only been for a minute each. Only to inform me of some paperwork I needed to take care of and mail. I missed the first call though.

UGH! So, my SR tried to call last night and I MISSED it! I feel sick to my stomach over this! I am kinda worried though....he's only been at BC a week and a half....do they usually get phone calls home this soon? Or is it that something is wrong? Or, as usual, am I overthinking this??? He didn't leave a message so I guess I'll just keep fretting until he calls again! UGH!!!

I got to talk to my husband on the phone!!!! <3
Though only for 1 minute and 8 seconds. We could only talk about a document he needs me to mail him. Ugh.... I asked how he was doing and he grunted. Lol No personal chatting when on an errand I suppose. Oh it was so good to hear his voice, but to hard not being able to talk. I don't know if it makes it better or worse.

My son is in Ship 03 DIV 276! I am so excited to hear from him when the time comes.  And it can't come soon enough.  We booked our room today at the Navy Lodge.  I hear that it is a great place to stay. My question is how early do we need to be at PIR?

Comment by diannep on July 5, 2015 at 6:51pm

Navy Lodge is the best for the cost.  Other hotels to consider are:

Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn....call these hotels directly and ask for the Navy Graduation rate.  They are a little pricier then Navy Lodge though....about 4-5 miles from RTC, but close to Sarge's MeetandGreet held the night before PIR.

I also reserved the Navy Lodge.  $66.00 w/o a kitchenette or 72 with one.  no taxes on the base either, so that saves abit too.

Comment by StacyMRC on July 5, 2015 at 5:06pm
We booked a room at the Navy Lodge $72/night.
