Dear Dana and family,

Good evening from where I am currently at! As a deployed sailor from LHD-2 USS Essex I cannot thank you enough for the time and effort you have given us by making these pillow cases. The fact that we are gifted such a personal creation means a  lot to us. We can all relate to the family member who gives us personal creations like this at holidays and these pillow cases really bring back the “Home” feeling. So again, thank you for what you’ve done!

A little about us.

We are V-3 division, which is for Aviation Boatswains Mates Handlers. Our job is to respond to aviation fires, move aircraft for storage, and maintain all flight deck operations. We work around the clock to maintain our primary mission of supporting marines! Our boat is a LHD class ship, which happens to be home for sailors and marines. We work cohesively together to tackle any mission from humanitarian aid to beach assaults. We can do it all! We also really appreciate your son’s service aboard CVN 68 USS Nimitz. I’m sure your son, being from a carrier, knows exactly what air department is all about.

All in all, thank you. That is not only from me but from the entire division. Those pillow cases were grabbed up so quickly we couldn’t even pick a pattern! We all love them and continue to talk about how much more comfy the pillows are now with some real fabric on them!

Very Respectfully,  ABH3 Rxxxxx

Good afternoon,

I just want to take the time and say thank you for the beautiful pillow cases we received from Head at Ease. It is nice to know that you all took the time to give the crew a little something from home and make them know that their sacrifice from leaving their families and love ones is not forgotten. Once again thank you. My pillow case was made by Susan S, thank you Susan.

Good morning Virginia,

My name is Maritza, I am serving onboard USS Essex, we are currently on deployment and the reason of my email is to thank you all ladies for the pillow cases. We love to go to bed and see the pillow cases gives us a little bit of a feeling that we are home. Thank you for taking the time to make them, we love them because they make us feel special and love.

Thank you and God bless you all.

Respectfully,  ENC(SW) Maritza  N4 Material/Maintenance  Amphibious Squadron THREE

Thank you Sue!

We just received wave #2 last week in the mail and are beginning distribution
today - mainly in Marine Berthing spaces, 1 per Marine!
So far, so good.  Very much appreciated!  Have a Blessed week,

Looking ahead, we will be doing the  USS Rushmore at the end of August.  This ship is traveling with the Essex and carrying the 15th MEU as well.
On another note, my 90 year old dad is in a rehab place trying to get stronger
to go home.  I am asking people to mail him a card for a blitz!  He will be there until
mid August.  If you are interested please contact me for  the address.

Please tell him that you are part of Heads at Ease.  My dad is a Navy veteran, serving in
WW2.  Thanks so much!

time to catch up on Notes.  If you recognize this pillowcase please let me know.  He didn't have a name to go with it.

To whom it may concern:

I just wanted to take the time out of my day to Thank You so much for the pillowcase that was sent to my ship. My name is LS2 Dxxxx and I serve in the NAVY onboard the USS ESSEX.
