Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Hi Sandra, My son is Epact and graduated July 2nd. He didn't get his orders until 1 week AFTER PIR. He had to go to THU (holding) after PIR until he got his orders. It's very frustrating not knowing anything and not being able to plan. But welcome to Navy life! :)

Michael's mom...I am praying that Michael's PO gives him his leave...Uggh! how frustrating!  Do you think it will help if Michael points out that he did not take his leave earlier? I hope it all works out.

Good morning Everyone!

Michael's mom...I hope you have a great time in SD with Michael. I cannot imagine how hard it will be having him so far away and not knowing when you will see him again.  I know he is excited for his journey and that helps...but still...it is hard.

Vickie360...she did not stay in the hospital, just 2 trips to the ER. She is healing well.  She is tough...she was a competition cheerleader and used to lots of injuries!

I am sorry to hear about yours son's senior chief. I hope your son is doing better.  OMG...keeping a lookout for sharks? I hope that was a joke! lol!  Otherwise jumping off the ship would be fun!

DepthCharge4...The kids have a lot of fun on the beach with their cookouts and camping. My daughter was moved to Charlie Co.  She was suposed to go back to Bravo Co but I am not sure she will now. Apparently her PO on Bravo smacked her in the head right after her concussion and she turned him in. She said he is not too happy. But really...why would he do that?

I am back at work today after a week off. I was supposed to go to AZ last week but did not because of some issues with my 16 yr old son. I ended up working on home projects instead and pretty much ignored the world! It was actually kind of nice to be alone. After raising 4 kids mostly on my own it was nice to have alone time.  I am old and tired!  LOL!

Sounds like fun!!!! I bet they will love this time off!!!

Katie said they all got 96 hour reprieve for the holiday. She and her roommate, her fellow boot camp graduate friend from her same division and another male sailor are camping on the beach this weekend! They will be within walking distance of several food establishments so they won't have to go back to eat and are taking s'more makings tonight !

DepthCharge4 - do they give them time off for the 4th of July or is it just another day?  Ryan said they will have "swim call" where they get to jump off the ship and stay in the water for 30 minutes!  He is pumped! He said the marine recon guys will be on the ship keeping a lookout for sharks!  Oh my... I probably didn't need to know that last part. LOL
