For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

B's Nuke, that looked like a fantastic vacation! So glad that you get to visit your sailor in Norfolk!
We are not planning another visit to Norfolk just yet. My son is planning on taking leave in November, he'll be home for a week. CVN72 is in the shipyard but the new Nukes assigned are making progress with qualifications. In a month my son will start watches on the reactor. He's getting to know the area pretty well. After the shocking first impression of the Newport News shipyard things are falling into place. :)

CoTwin, love the swim call pics. LOL I'm a Midwestern girl and I cannot imagine diving into water where I can't see the bottom. Stupid, I know. Looks like they had a great time, tho. Bet it felt good to get out and breathe real air. And he called his mama! What a great kid.

To all the new members - be sure to read the pages (9) of them to the right under the member profiles. You will find lots of valuable info there. And as you have time peruse through the discussion forum above - there are pages (& pages) of discussions where again you can find good info. And of course if all else fails, ask your questions here and someone will answer for you!

Co-twin - yep the vacation week went by way too fast! Mammoth was beautiful though and we had a great time. Even better is that we spoke to our Sailor on Saturday (he just got back from a 3 1/2 week underway) and he will be getting some leave time next week so I am madly booking hotel/air so we can head to VA! So excited that we will be able to spend some time with him before he deploys later this year. Even better is that hubby was able to get off work to go too ;-) Now I'm just waiting to see if college son can get off work....fingers crossed he'll know today.
