Thank you to all the comments this sure has made me feel better. Not only all the information you ladies are giving me but I now how a big support group of friends and that means a lot. I will write her everyday so will her sister and father. I will also send her pictures of us and her dogs. That helps a bunch. You ladies are great. What an awesome group. I just want to say congrats to all of your daughters for joining the Navy too. The life these girls are going to have is going to be wonderful. Congrats to all the moms who's daughters are now on to their A School. Such an achievement.

sarahsmom,

Never heard anyone refer to a pirates packet?  If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear that reference?  The form letter comes from RTC but with blanks that your daughter will fill in regarding her ship/div, address and PIR date.  Most of the rest of the letter is info from RTC regarding travel to Great Lakes, hotel info, and general info on PIR.  Sorry your week has been hard - we all have those up and downs in our journey.

Christy,

You are very welcome.  It is reassuring to know you are not alone in your sadness.  I cannot tell you how you will swell with unbelievable pride when you see her at PIR.  It will come!!!!

Thank you Oleander for that message. This has helped me by talking with all you moms. It's true if we all stick together and help each other out through rough times and good times. And I want to say congrats to Catsmom on the arrival of the new grand baby.

Anna,

Thanks for that comment. No you don't sound like a cliche, I totally understand what every family is going through. I know it will get easier just miss her so much. I miss her silliness and her laugh. I have several videos on my phone of her and I watch them to make me not miss her as much. It sounds silly but it helps a little bit. I'm so glad that I joined this group I know talking with all these moms will help all of us get through this. We did receive her package of her clothes and phone and the other belongings she couldn't keep today. I was at work and my Husband text me to let me know. Now just waiting on getting her address so we can start writing her. Thanks for being such a good friend.

Is the former letter the same as the pirates packet? Still waiting to get my daughters address. The past week has been so hard without her.

Wow, love hearing all the wonderful news about our sailor girls, and seeing many new faces here.

Christy,

I understand how hard it is on the family when our girls leave for bootcamp. After having them around every day for years they are suddenly off dealing with who knows what and they can't share with us. Especially for those first several weeks!!  I don't want to sound like a cliche, but the other moms are right - it does get easier as we get used to this new reality!! Tell your younger daughter to share with her sister new combinations of clothing she's putting together, or new nail colors she's trying and can't wait to share with her sister after PIR.  She can pack along some funky nail polish if you get to go to PIR, just also include polish remover because she won't be able to have polish on when she reports back after liberty.  Share with us as you continue on this journey and let us know how you're doing.

cjbmom,

Congratulations to your daughter!!!  I hope she is liking San Antonio!!!  Did you get to go to the airport with her after PIR??

Oleander,

Congratulations to your daughter also!!  Is her DC training for Damage Control?  Hope she gets her orders soon.  Keep us posted.

lovey,

So happy SIL got the form letter!!!  Now you can start sending off all those letters and at least have a little connection with her.  How is your little grandson doing?

Sue,

Congratulations to your daughter also graduating from PIR!!  And you get to see her soon!!!  Is she staying at GL for school?

Super CONGRATULATIONS to our newest member of the Grandma's club, Catsmom!!!!!!
