first of all i will begin with hi how are ya and im new here. This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, we took our daughter to the hotel on monday and said our goodbyes. We couldnt stay and see her get sworn in on Tuesday :( but thats ok . she had her phone with her and called when they left meps . They had about 4 hrs at the airport so i spoke with her quite a bit that day . she was not happy when someone told her that they would not be going to bed until Thursday night.....wow lol, I told her to get sleep on the plane and she will have to learn to sleep standing up heee, she didnt think that was funny. :( later on in the day someone told her that it would be Wed night when they got to sleep and shower so that was good news, I got my "im here ill call you in 3 weeks call at @11pm. Wed i was up and down with emotions with millions of things going through my head. Thurs i was ok , i took the kids to the water park and we had fun. Today i woke up good and pulled up insagram and there she was a post from monday saying here we go pray for me ....omg here come the tears... im ok now lol she is a strong woman but still my little girl..;0)
thanks for letting me vent....
Good Morning to Everyone.
Happy Friday to everyone.
Catsmom, will be praying that he stays out of danger and will be doing just fine. Enjoy your time with him and your daughter. The time goes by so fast.
Thanks Blondie!
Good morning all, I am getting Chrissy's Navy Brat tonight! I hope we can Skype, but I don't know yet.
sarahsmom, funny but no. The form letter is the first letter you get from her. You will also get the famous"The Box". The PIR packet will come later closer to her PIR date.
I heard from my daughter again today. She is in A schiil, Sam Houston. I cant wait until Thursday afternoon. I should be squeezing her tighter than Uncle Sam at about 4pm San Antonio time. Also, her friends families forwarded their cell phones to me as they will not have an address for a week and I will deliver them in 2 days. lol. They will be chatting with their moms soon.
Christy, you're so welcome! My Navy daughter is our youngest and last to leave home, we're very close and it was so hard for me initially. But day by day they get stronger and we do too. Have you ever heard of "Queenisms"? They're darling sayings that boost female morale. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes poignant. I'd copy and past one or two onto my letters. My daughter loved them and shared them with her bunk mates. When we met them at PIR they kept thanking me for the positive reinforcements that seemed to come just at the right time. Little did they know they helped me too! "-)
Anna, Yes - my daughter starts training for Damage Control tomorrow. Yesterday they told her she'd be on hold for a week before training started, this morning she was told a spot opened up and she'll be Classed-up and begin training tomorrow (Wed). She's very excited but not especially looking forward to the gas chamber again it's a DC thing! She also has to go through the Decom Chamber which is freezing cold water. She amazes me!
