Praying for all of you and your loved ones. Still no word from Alex.

Hello! I am new to NfM's. Our daughter is currently in Fit Div. We actually found out when she called after we had already used vaca time and driven most of the way there from across country. She failed her run by approximately a minute. We've been so on edge and stressed, as she SO needs this and wants this. I was very surprised to hear from her this past Sunday, as we were sure that we wouldn't until her status changed. She has been emotional at times, but insists on passing and speaks with a lot of confidence when saying that she's going to. She said she has since shaved 40 seconds off of her time and said that if she couldn't pass on Monday, that she would pass on Wednesday. We haven't gotten another call, so she must not have passed on Monday. We are now hoping, wishing and praying that we get that good news call tomorrow...pride instead of tears. Good news would be such a welcomed thing right now.

To all the other moms with sons or daughters in FIT, I'll be thinking positive thoughts, hoping, wishing and praying for them, also!!!

they do once they are "in fleet" and their testing ctr provides it (example, no pool when deployed). they can do the bike, too. that's what my sailor does.

Do they have an option to do swimming instead of running? Alex mentioned it on Sunday when he called me. He said he wished he could do the 500m swim instead of the running.

I am hoping for the best, he didn't call yesterday after the doctor's appointment so hopefully he will heal up and get this challenge under his belt and overcome it. Hopefully he will get the cards I sent him today or tomorrow.

Alex's_Mom:  Shin splints are very very common in Bootcamp.  They normally put them in medical and let them heal before continuing their training.  Prayers for him....that he is feeling better soon and passes that PFA, becoming a sailor shortly after that!

Keep in mind when we say 10 try's not all tests will count. if someone calls a time out then that try does not count towards there ten. I have seen some's ten try's take a couple months. Because someone kept calling a time out. Could be the person counting laps lost count.

Katheryn - My son is in FIT as well and I spoke with him on Sunday too. He sounded very upset with himself, but I tried to keep reassuring him that he could do it. He is going to see the doctor today for leg pain (lemonelephant said it might be "shin splints"). I hope it is just swollen muscles and nothing major. I told him to write me after the doctor visit to let me know what is going on.

I will add your daughter to my prayers as well.

I hope you get the call. if they don't pass on 10 tries they go home and are allowed to try boot again after 6 months. after 10 tries they go to ship 5....seps (separation). there is a group here and on Facebook for that ship. it does take a while to out process, but those groups will know that process. I hope you don't need it!!!

Talked to Lilly on Sunday, she is very down! Only has 3 more tries. I will stop sending cards on Wed. Any idea what happens if they don't pass. How long before they can come home?
