Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In fact some of the women are planning to get together in August! Hang in there. Most of us have been where you are and there is lots of help and advise among this group. Thank your son for his service and hold on for a crazy first year. We are happy you found us.

However, I will say that most of the "action" takes place on our Facebook page. "Maryland Navy Moms" Either way, we are glad you found us!

I am a Navy Mom to three sailors, two active and one reserve veteran. My reserve daughter needs to find temporary housing in or around Joint Base Andrews. Any moms on this site able to help me help her find inexpensive apartments, one bedroom or studio. She does have two little kitties.

We have a Maryland group on FB which is more active than this site. Are you on FB? We do get together and have lunch from time to time. There are 2 other moms on that group who live in Germantown and then a couple in Frederick. Check us out!

I still have a few calls from Great Lakes saved on my phone when she left me messages from boot camp...it goes quickly ladies....be proud and honored that our children have made this awesome decision to serve our country....

My son had been a depper for 9 months and I remember at the time just putting it out of my mind as his day to leave was so far in the future! But when that day came all to quick I tried and failed not to cry. Now after 5 years and 2 deployments on the aircraft carrier he's stationed on, I can still remember those emotions on that day! We are here to support you in any way. You will be so proud of your son as he stands there being sworn in at the MEPS center. When you see him next at PIR you will see a man who looks like your son but has grown up in just a few short months. And as Colleen said- it IS a roller coaster of emotions!
