N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning All!  Tonight's the night for some divisions to do BattleStations.  I will post the divisions going through when they complete BattleStations in the morning.  Not allowed to do it before then....RTC rule.

we got a letter from our son in 261. he said to expect a call Friday morning.
Comment by ellen0502 on July 30, 2015 at 12:51am

Ujsmom, On Friday he will walk to the gate, and you shouldn't have to check him out of his ship. This may have changed, but I haven't heard any different.

On Sat and Sun he will again walk to the gate to meet you. You may be able to drive him back to his ship to check him out, but you cannot drive on to base without him in the car unless the driver holds a DoD ID. Again in the evening you may be able to drive him back to his ship.

Driving on to base even with your Sailor in the car is strictly up to the guards at the gate, and security level. Everyone in the car must have a gov't issued ID card. Do be prepared to make the walk back to his ship with him, it does happen.

Always get him back to base early, in the Navy on time is late.

Ujsmom:  Your sailor is staying in GL for A School?  If so, ellen will have more info on that.  She will be on soon!

Will we actually be able to drive on base to pick up son and drive on base to return him each day and night after PIR?

Good Morning!

Comment by diannep on July 28, 2015 at 9:56pm

They normally do BattleStations over 3 different nights, each division going one of those nights.  They usually start the week before PIR week, Thurs night, and continue on Mon and Tues nights of PIR week.  It is a 12 hr overnight drill.  Calls come in after 2pm Central on the day they finish.  We are not allowed to post a specific division's BattleStations date until the morning of completion...RTC's request so you all can consider this ship movement in the fleet and practice OPSEC.
