Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello all! I forgot to mention I got to see a picture of my son at the blood drive! I was so excited but couldnt believe my eyes because Im always looking for him in the pictures posted but never see him. I was so thankful. I'm so thankful for this sight also! Its truly been a source of encouragement to me daily!

One of the promises I cling to for my son is: "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life, I will advise you and watch over you"-Psalm 32:8

Yes it is, Melsmom:  You stay to the left on Buckley, car line will be on your right.  Bypass RTC....turn around at the train station which is right past that.  Head back from the opposite direction....easy left turn onto RTC!  We have proof that this works from reports we get!

Good Morning All !

I meant from the east. Sorry.

I've heard it's easier to get to RTC from the west then turn left into RTC??

Anne:  It may be a little pricey, but if your new sailor likes steak, a place called Stevens in Gurnee IL (very close) is supposedly very good, according to someone who emailed me recently.
