N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I got the "I'm a Sailor" call! He called me around 12:30. We got to talk for almost 2 hours and he said that he might be able to call me over the weekend, so fingers crossed! He said that he also got honor recruit for his division, 260. So proud and can't wait to see my boyfriend next friday! It's been a long two months, but everyone on this site has helped me get through this. So excited for graduation next Friday! It can't get here soon enough! :) I haven't stopped smiling since he called, my cheeks hurt! Haha

Has anyone received that fabulous "I'm a sailor" call?
Everytime my phone rings my heart starts racing with excitement in anticipation.

Mom of NavyBaby,

That's awesome!!  The IT (Information Services Technician) rating relates to computers and is a great career track.  My Sailor daughter specifically chose that as she would be able to get a private sector job in that field.  She has received certifications in all kinds of applications.  It is a high security position.  Your daughter would train for 5 mos in Pensacola, FL.  My daughter got 2nd in her class there and received a promotion from E-2 to E-4 (though she had to add another year to her service)!  She is doing wonderful after only 2 1/2 years in!!

Happy Friday!!

Only a few more days. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY SON!

Mom of NavyBaby, If she was offered a switch from EM to IT I would personally consider it a good move if that is what she chooses to do.

CatMom has a daughter that is an IT, and she can weigh in on it for you.  They have a cool insignia too. :)

It will make no difference in rate, they are all earning the same at the same rate.
