Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 938

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi ladies! My son with be going to Pensacola as well.  I did get a letter last Thursday.  He was quite busy the Sunday before he said. Very happy for some info.  I'm getting pretty excited now!  Only a few more days we can write.  Did any of you watch the Live feed on Friday?  I think it's still on the site if you missed it. I saw my son.  He is a body snatcher. Really cool to be able to see what they are seeing, even if it's just and hour and a half.  JohnsMom- I'm not sure what they can take from the airport but I just asked that on our PIR main site so I am guessing Diane will respond soon.  Bunny63- I am glad your son is doing well!  Haven't heard anything about shots. My son had said a lot of guys were getting pink eye and he had a bad chest cold for a while but is better.  Not long now ladies!

Hello Jennblue and JohnsMom ~My son said he would be a rail guard down on the drill deck.  I watched the 7/17 PIR, and I think I spotted him - he wears glasses, and was the only one I saw with glasses but I could only see the back of his head and some of his right side, so I could be claiming the wrong recruit!   I am sending one last letter in today's mail and hope that I get an "I'm a Sailor" call...does anyone know if they only get to make one call for that?

The Sailors have a somewhat limited time for phone calls after BS, but the call is usually much longer than the rest of the phone calls during BS. They can make more than one call of time allows.

I'm not sure if I'm putting this question in the right place on here....

Anyone planning to go to Sarge's Meet and Greet?

Bunny 63,  We would like to but we will be driving in and won't get into town until after it begins That is without traffic, which is hear can be real tough. I thought I saw on the PIR main site that several people are, but you may want to ask that question there.  Only a week now until we leave! I'm sooo very excited! Going to be watching the PIR tomorrow morning and that will most likely push me over the edge! :)  I keep thinking of my son saying "relax mom"!  I am trying... :)

We are driving in too.  It should take us over 8 hrs to get there, but I am hoping to get there in time for the meet & greet.  Got a letter from my son today that said they should be basically done after Wednesday -hope he's right about that.   He said that he made a lot of friends there - a lot of guys that he would hang out with outside of RTC.  He included a diagram that he drew  that showed where he'll be standing during PIR  -I'm not bragging...but it confirmed that I spotted him last week!  :)

Don't tell my boss, but I'll be watching it tomorrow morning too LOL!- so excited!!

Hi ladies!!! We are up! Our week! Yippie! We are driving to our sons PIR right now (yippee)and we just found out that the big music festival Lallapaloza is happening this weekend in downtown Chicago. It is said to bring Millions of people to downtown. Also My mom rode from the airpot with Sarge this afternoon and he said last weekends Saliors headed to Pensacola for A school left on Monday, with orders, because of flight schedules. Thought that might be helpful. I hope you all have a great weekend and get to really connect with your loved ones! We have Saliors!!! Oh yea!!

Wow!  What a weekend!  It was such a privilege to see and experience so much joy!  I so enjoyed hearing stories about DIV 938!  I love the group picture.  My son made so many friends that he wants to keep in contact with in the DIV.  Sounds like it was really a great group of guys!  Well Congratulations ladies to you, your families and your sailors!  Now on to the Pensacola page!  :) Thank you all for the support and I will continue to pray for all your sailors!
