Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 281 and 282

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks for the reply NavySisKM! I accepted your friend request and sent you a message. :) Is your brother a fair bit older than most of the guys? My son mentioned most in the DIV call one guy "Old man winter" or something like that because he is older than everyone else. He said he's older than the RDC or something.

I have a son in 282 w/ the last name He.  I haven't received a call yet.  I'm thinking if it would be too emotional for him to call, he may not call.  I'm actually OK with that.  I wish he would call, but if it's harder on him then I understand.

Last night when I spoke with my son he confirmed 281's move to Ship 06. Today I connected with the gf of one of the friends he made. She mentioned they switched DIV #s too. Can anyone confirm this? Tomorrow I'm going to send to both addresses just in case but they only send mail out Mondays and my son already said he didn't write this week. Was too tired. I don't want him to not get mail

mommaH, Did the GF tell you what their division number changed to, because this would be something completely different? Divisions have never changed division numbers when moving ships, that I am aware of, this would be completely out of the norm.

There are lots of recruits in several TGs that are on the move to ship 06 right now, and this is the first and only time I have heard of a division number change. I am thinking his GF may have heard wrong.

I was concerned so I contacted my son's recruiter. She's been amazing through everything. She checked and 281 is still 281, just Ship 06 now. I also contacted the GF and let her know. Here's the address the recruiter gave me as of today.

SR Last name, First name, MI
Ship 06 Div 281

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Hello Happy Thursday! got a letter today from my SR, he was happy, they keep them busy now, and he give me the date for the BS. where getting closer.for our PIR. And his hoping that they can call this weekend.

Nanay would you be willing to PM the BS date? My son is like pulling teeth for important info lol. He's too busy saying he misses us and loves us.

I received a letter from my brother today also. He said things are going pretty well. He has been chosen for either RCPO or AROC of ship staff. That means there's a possibility of him leading the division during graduation and being recognized by name. That is if he doesn't screw up and get replaced before PIR.

It's so funny, because about 18 months ago when we were suggesting he might want to consider joining the Navy he shot it down. He didn't want to have anything to do with the military. But after working in a dead end job and discovering he wasn't the college type he started to take it more seriously. And now it sounds like he's flourishing. So proud of him!

Good for him NavySisKM!! I'm proud of him too and all of our SR's who have decided to take a chance and take advantage of all the opportunities available to them in the Navy.  We'll look forward to seeing him at PIR!

We got a great letter from our son today also.  He's actually having fun!  He said they met with Classifiers where they were briefed on A school and options after completion.  He's very excited and can't wait to get started. We are feeling so blessed!
