Just got my "I'm here" phone call, it was a bittersweet moment, knowing that I won't hear his voice for the next 3 wks.

I received my son's box today. I've never been so happy to smell his stinky clothes!!
Lol. Can't wait to get mine.

Was his ROTC time noted in his contract? That's enough to bump his pay grade up to E-3.

Mine left on 7/27 as well.  I received his box two days later, and am anxiously awaiting that form letter so that I can mail his stack of letters!   Going from every day communication to "no news is good news" is so tough. It's been a rough week to say the least.  All of these groups and the Navy Moms FB page are extremely helpful.  I'm counting down the Fridays till we see him- already down to 8 :)

I will miss his 19th birthday which is coming up Saturday.   That's tough too.  My younger son will leave for boot camp in 5 weeks...he will turn 18 in boot camp.  They'll be so close, yet so far apart and probably will never see each other.  Going to PIR for my sailor #1 and knowing that sailor #2 is there somewhere close will KILL me .....  We've just gotta stay tough for them.

My heart goes out to you. Having one child away shattered my heart to pieces, I just can't imagine having two of them. Although is better said than done, BE STRONG, and rest assured he is in good hands. Kind regards.

What a wonderful Mom you are.  I know it hurts down to the core of your soul letting your babies leave your side, but as my husband says this is what are children suppose to do grow up and become a adults. It should give us a sense of pride that we did our job as parents .

As far as the letter I think it depends on what they have the SR do. I didn't get my box until 6 days after and than 3 days later the letter.  I sent my first batch of letters out on Monday and know I am waiting for the call. I am very nervous because I am out of town for a week  and my husband is home so I don't know what # he will call.  I am praying that if he calls it will be on the weekend .

My son is in div 312.     Have a blessed day

My son Hunter left for boot camp on 7/29 too. I recieved my "I'm here" call at 2 in the morning. It was so good to hear his voice even if the call lasted only 26 seconds. Then I was up for hours crying.
Hunter's Mom, I hope you have gotten some mail from your son. I guess as time passes things get better. My son seems to be in good spirit now and adapting well. Navy mom hug going your way.

I have received 2 letters so far. Def felt better after getting the 2nd one. I could see his personality and jokes in it and knew he was doing well. Thanks for asking, hugs back!!!

Momas, we are getting so much closer now- about that the halfway point now.  Those little letters and just the hope of a phone call keep us going. I have 4 Fridays left until PIR.  Can't wait!  My SR is Div 313.... hope you all get calls this weekend!

Me too! I would love to hear his voice. Silly I know. Hunter is in Div 321, his PIR is 9/25.

Just a few more wks!
