N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Got our call framer SR in 284!  He sounds great!  Did extremely well on firing range simulator.  Sounds like the ladies are still having a hard time coming together...they all lost there calls for this week but earned it back at the last minute.  Said he was worried they were all going to be delayed for PIR due to some of the issues.  Didn't tell him but I think maybe it was a tactic to try to get everyone to pull together.  Hope everyone gets there call today:)

284 calling! My son had a sore throat, said something about the dust mixing with his mucous and sandblasting his throat, but other than that he was well. Said two others are going with him to CT sub Mariners school.

Good Morning!

Just a word of warning on the cards.  No extra writing on the outside, no stickers, nothing....the SRs don't want to draw attention to themselves and give the RDCs anything that may cause them a hard time!

Good Morning!

My son will be celebrating a bday in boot camp and we intend on flooding him with cards!
Comment by diannep on July 31, 2015 at 11:57pm

bushkamom:  It is fine to send cards, preferably in white envelopes as some RDCs have a heyday with the different colored envelopes, although others don't care.

Hello all.  I read somewhere earlier that some of the group sends birthday cards to SRs that are not there own...I'm kind of private, and didn't want to put it out there that my SR is having a birthday on this coming week. But, now i feel truly guilty because I think the more cards the better.  What to do?

I sent my honey a questionnaire that I got from one of the N4M groups and then edited it to make it more personal and he loved it!! In the comments field he wrote: "I love you! This was awesome. Send me more of these they're hilarious!" I'm smiling from ear to ear!! :D

Thank you CatMom509!  Someone else mentioned that to me also.  I went ahead and mailed his Bible to him, however I think I am going to write him another quick note and let him know it is ok to ask someone at the Chapel for one.

Sheila9430, I hope 285 gets to call too.  I will definitely have my phone close by and on loud!! =)

I received letter today and my daughter said she can call on August 1. So maybe that applies to everyone in div 284. Keep your phone close!
