So I'm standing with my Uncle, phone in my pocket. I've been checking it non-stop all day. I check it again and see I missed "the call" by 4 minutes. This sucks. I hate i-phones. Sometimes they ring and sometimes they don't even though you have the alert set to "on". I feel so awful and so sad for missing that call...

Good Morning and a warm welcome to all our New Navy Family Members. Graduation is right around the corner for most of you and for some, you are just starting this journey. I encourage you to ask questions and gather information so you are prepared for your future travel to Great Lakes. On Face Book, we have many groups to include "A" school face book groups. If you would like to join our face book group for graduation - search on face book for "PIR mm-dd-yy" Here is an example for this weeks PIR group "PIR 08-07-15" notice there is a space between PIR and the month. These groups are a lot of fun and are VERY informative. We have a meet and greet each week the night before graduation. Click on the upcoming events tab and find your PIR week. I try to update this monthly and do not delete events to avoid confusion. Looking forward to seeing most of you at the meet and greet. Welcome aboard and I thank your for your sailors service to our Great Country.

Regards Old Sarge

ps.. i can be found on facebook by searching for "Sarge John Spadaro"

Thanks for the welcome.  My son Mack flew to Great Lakes on July 14.  He has an estimated grad date of September 11 (I know…right?!)  I'm glad to meet other mom's who have SR's from San Joaquin County who also have these dates in common.

I want to say how grateful I am for this site. Although i only found it 4 days before she shipped which was yesterday I had all of my questions answered and  felt more at ease letting go. I was able to talk to her and tell her what to expect and the process she was going to go through on her journey to Great Lake. I knew to send money with her for food which is important being it is an all day process getting there. I look forward to reading others stories and all of the tips that help getting through these next 6 weeks. Again I want to say thank you for everything you all are doing helping us moms with our kids Navy experience.
