Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 289 and 290

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Menzvibe, our son is in your son's division also. His last phone call ( this past Sunday evening) he also mentioned that there have been like 15 people leave. I think he was guessing but who knows. This phone call was a MUCH BETTER one!  He actually sounded like himself and was in a better mood. Im hoping our sons' division has finally figured it all out!

It was a great call on Sunday night. My son also, expressed that several recruits were no longer in the division. I pray every day that they get team work going. It seems this is happening. The laughter in his voice gave me such peace. He said they had a very good day. He was very hopeful and his attitude was optimistic. He is so enjoying being in the Navy.  Please keep me informed I will do the same. Friendships in the Navy or everlasting. Can't wait for the next call!!

My son is in 289 as well.

Hey Mom's of Ship 11 Division 290 it's Sunday!! Waiting to get that call today. Stay positive!!

My son told us that ship 11 div 290 received an Academic flag for the first academic test.  the whole group averaged 4.0 or better out of a 5.  sounds like they are on the way.

Oh so proud of our Sailor recruits!! Academic Flag will be a great confidence boost!! Way to GO Ship 11 Division 290. Keep up the hard work!!! Whoo Hoo!!

Has anyone seen the picture's of Division 290 on the Navy website??

Hi everyone,

My son is an SR in DIV 289. We have received one personal letter from him, and two phone calls. His first phone call broke my heart, we both were very emotional. I suppose it was just hearing the voices of love ones. It is amazing how we take such things for granted when they are taken away from us. His second phone call was upbeat and he seemed has though a light bulb went off in his head. He shared with me that he shares excerpts from his letters with the other SR's because it is motivating and uplifting.

I find this venue so supportive. I look forward to meeting all of you. Just as our son's and daughter's are forever bound together, so are we.

has anyone been able to locate DIV 289 in any of the pictures on Facebook?  would really like to see my daughter.

Miasdad, I'm looking for 289 also and haven't seen any photos. We weren't expecting much contact from him. When I go to bed at night, the last thing I think about is my SR, and I smile because I didn't get any phone calls from the Navy. "No news is good news"

it is different then when I was in the Army, we could make phone calls on sundays only and encouraged to write letters more than the 1 time a week they do here.  I am really looking forward to seeing pictures of the group so I can see how she has changed, I can hear it when I talk to her and see it in her writing as well.  at this point in time I agree no news is good news.

hope your SR stays strong and focused and gets through this, it will be awesome to them all graduate. the feeling they will have after completion of basic is one that you cant take away, it gives them all the confidence in the world knowing I was pushed mentally and physically to a breaking point and I made it.

Talked to my Love yesterday morning. It was amazing to hear his voice!
