N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

lbjc:  Yes, they are allowed phone cards.  They can buy them there at the NEX with their supply cards....or....you all can mail them one.  Get one with at least 250 minutes since the pay phone connection eats up alot of their minutes.

Does anyone know if they are allowed phone cards? I've read differ things so wasn't sure.

Minifabs every situation is different, however they may get to make more than one call. Our call got cut off and she made 3 more calls to my cell, and on the 4th we connected again. Also what I did when we connected again (thank goodness I was at home at the time). She called my cell, I put it on speaker phone, then used my landline to make calls to her father and sister. By placing both phones on speaker phone she was able to talk to her immediate family all at once.

mimifabs. This call should be longer, and if your Sailor has time more than one call can be made.

Division 302 also on the RTC :)

Comment by diannep on August 4, 2015 at 5:39pm

Yes, HooyahWife.  He would be allowed to do that.  The OHare Hilton is actually inside the hotel and some use their "day rate" to provide a place for their new sailor/family to rest while waiting for flights.  Once he is all checked in, he should be able to do that.

Comment by Kathleen on August 4, 2015 at 3:55pm

The RTC posted like 250 photos on their Facebook page.  Tons of Division 301 - none of 303 or 304 :(

Comment by HooyahWife on August 4, 2015 at 3:24pm
Does anyone know much about the Hilton Ohare hotel? I know it's located at the airport but if I booked a room here could my husband come to my room before his flight to A school? I know they can't leave the airport once they check in so would this be ok?

Thank you diannep!  This is awsome.  I just hope we are able to make it as we fly in Thursday afternoon and will need to rent a car!
