Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

tmansmom. Boxers are always welcome, just make sure they are a plain color. No Sponge Bob Square Pants, Superman, paisley print, or red lips on them. White is preferred, but can be difficult to find. I am sure the housekeepers at the hotels get a giggle out of how many tighty-whities are left in the trash cans on Friday. LOL

The necklace will be allowed. They are allowed to wear one if it is not visible when in uniform. but the bracelet will not be allowed at all while in uniform.

sponge bob, superman?

My son is requesting boxers. Is this permissible? His bracelet with crosses was sent back but they allowed him to keep the necklace with the Lord's Prayer. Can I bring this to airport? I plan to bring laptop, iPod, cell phone, and chargers. These are his prized possessions.

Do they have luggage? Or do we need to bring his luggage?   The only thing he left with was the little backpack(or sack) he had on his back??  Or is the "seabag" their luggage?   Sorry to sound stupid just wanting to make sure I have everything for him?  Can you tell I'm getting a little nervous???  :)
