sparkiel, check your My Page.

The time on HOLD at Lackland waiting to class up has been averaging 2 weeks, but it all depends on how many seats are available.

Samsmom Is your son at boot camp right now? At Great Lakes?

Yes, Kelly, everyone who had a recruit leave and/or arrive yesterday has a recruit at the RTC in Great Lakes, the Navy's only Boot Camp.

Sparkiel Is your daughter at boot camp right now at Great Lakes?

Hi everyone, my son is also scheduled to leave August 11th. As much as I am going to miss him I know that this is exactly where he is meant to be. He is very excited to leave and even a little envious of his close friend that is leaving for basic 2 weeks earlier. This experience will certainly be an adjustment for our family and I am dreading the time I will not have contact with him. I am glad to have found this group and look forward to having others that are experiencing the same thing to talk with.

Me too. Knowing others are going through the same thing is so helpful. I feel like we're ready though we've been preparing since last September when he signed. Now we're just hanging out and having fun.
My daughter is leaving on August 11t too... Time is going by so fast. I'm really excited for her at the same time I'm so nervous for her. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Hello, All - My youngest is leaving Aug 11th.  I'm trying to enjoy this time with him and be positive.  This is a great step for him although a tough one for me.  My husband and I will be empty-nesters and of my three children, this one is the hardest on me since he's my youngest. I pray for all our kids to be strong and learn everything they can.  Good luck to all Recruits!

It's crazy to me that we're less than a week away! So much to do still and some moments I can't quit crying.
My son is also leaving August 11th. He is my first one to leave the home. I'm a wreck. It's nice to see the comments, and get advice from people that know exactly what I'm going through.
I'm with you! I'm a wreck depending on the moment. We just have to hang tough together!
