Let's chat about our wonderful sons and daughters who have chosen the PACT program.

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Thank you for the reminders Splash and Dilian; I took down my "rant" to keep things positive . I got some good advice from Maryoses Powell and her husband. Daughter is even MORE committed to getting SCWS done and is working on it this weekend; she will have first training manual completed by Sunday night. And she is investigating her options for bachelors degree. I guess sometimes it takes a small crisis to light fires ;)

Wow, how interesting but not shocking or surprising in the least! I guess we need to make sure we are not posting anything that can be pinpointed to a SR. I would hate to get my SR in trouble for my mouth. We love our kiddies thats the bottom line!

MIchael's mom. No it is not anything you or anyone else did or said. It was a comment I made.  I am just sharing my experience so that we all use caution.

Hello everyone.I have not been commenting much but I do read the posts. The reason I am not commenting is because  there wes something I said on here that ended up in my daughters records. It was even recored that "her mother posted it on N4Moms"   So be careful! It is not something that hutrs her...but it made me think twice about saying anything. I feel I have been pretty careful with what I have said here so for it to end up in her records is bothersome.

CrackerjackMom5, not at all disappointed by the entire Navy- just disappointed her first command was less than helpful as she starts to navigate her career. This 3rd daughter of mine was " made for" the military with her "box- checking" ways. She went in with a plan and has detailed all the small steps it takes to get there and is motivated to start checking off those boxes. She tells me she has run into many very unmotivated sailors out there that aren't too worried about getting their qualifications done, so she has had to do some information digging to even find out how to start.
Maybe the meeting with her Chief was a blessing in disguise since I had also encouraged Sta-21 as a viable option, and would get her well on her way towards being a PA some day
