Hello,  My name is Debbie and my daughter Aolani left for bootcamp on Aug 18th.  So she is 2 days into the next stage of her life and all I can think about is what she is doing every minute of the day.  My biggest fear is that she is emotionally ok.  The physicall part I have no worries as she was very well prepared physically.  Emotionally she was ready to leave and begin her career however me as a mother I worry about her emotions.  Typical mother I guess.

I laid my phone down next to my face the night she flew to ORD and tossed and turned waiting for the phone call.  She sounded GREAT.  She sounded excited and that made me feel better.  How do mothers and fathers get thru each day wondering what there child is doing.  Did they get enough sleep?  Have they cried?  Are they in control of there emotions?  Are they OK?

Graduation?  When will I know the actual graduation date so I can prepare for travel arrangments.

Thanks everyone mom for there support and GOD BLESS!

jj66, Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect. You'll receive "the box" soon and a few days later (10 days after arrival is average), you will receive The Form Letter. She may have holiday routine for the first time on 09/06/2015 and "real" letters will go out in the mail on 09/08/2015 (the 7th is Labor Day).

She is OK or you would have received a call. Remember, in the Navy "No news is good news!"

I feel The same exact way! The not knowing is the worst. I know "No News is Good News", but at the same time hearing her tell me will hopefully help me to breathe a little easier.  So hard to function every day!

So glad I found this site, so nice to know I'm not alone ( or going crazy)

My boyfriend left for bc on Aug. 18 and I still haven't gotten letters I'm worried sick. It's like this big hole in my chest

Rissy, He will have holiday routine and be able to write for the first time today. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

I left info for you on your My Page.

Thank you soo much!! Is it hard waiting for the letters too?

You are very welcome. You will learn which day is your mail day.

Hi Debbie, my name is Linda. And my husband and I both were in the military. Trust me it still was hard sending our babies to boot camp. I know it will make her a better person. And I told her every thing I went through. As for as crying from them screaming at me and wondering why I signed up for it. But I also told her if I made it through it , I know she can. Yes I cried after she left because that's my baby and I still want to be able to protect her from harm, but I know she needs this ti spread her wings. So I sent her off with the best one I know. GOD, that's how I keep calm thinking if what she's going through. I prayed and told her to keep GOD first.
My form letter said Oct 16th is graduation
